Rise of Rome I Basic
About Rise of Rome I
Rise of Rome I is a small mini mod for you people who only want a few new units, more towns, better game play etc. Rise of Rome I will give you a better playing game, without re-modding the whole game. So if you like Rome Total War how it is but want a few more additions then this is the mod for you.
How to Download
Rise of Rome I is only a small mod and will be complete within a few weeks. The game is based on the original version, without patches 1.1 or 1.2.
The Mod
As we have said this is only a small mod and will not change everything. For that you will need to download bigger mods such as Res Gestae or Punic total war. This is just for you people who don't want to spoil the game too much, and just have an extra choice of units and towns to conquer.

Re: Rise of Rome I
Any particular reason this mod is not for RTW 1.5 since this is the current RTW standard ????

Re: Rise of Rome I
well basically i decided that i like creating units and so on, and im sort of good at it. And so instead of russing into a huge gigantic mod (which i may do soon) i thought i might as well see what people thought of my mini mod. Most units are reskins but thats basically beacause im practicing the texture side at the moment.
I didnt use 1.5 and more just bassically because i liked the game how it was. Im not expecting this mod to be a huge hit i just hope that people will tell me what they think and weither i should go on to make a big mod.
My big mod idea by the way is a Ancient Europe and China japan. It will be called Rise of Rome I gold and will have indians, japanese, romans etc in it. This will be a big mod and will hopefully be brought out for both Mtw2 and rome tw. But firstly i would just like to know if people like the units.
So i dont want to be stupid and rush into modding but take my time and practice first.

Re: Rise of Rome I
The only reason that I mentioned this is that there may not be many people who will/can play with RTW 1.0. If you have already patched up to 1.2 or 1.5 and do not have an original copy of RTW 1.0 squirreled away on your PC, then the RTW CD will not let you put 1.0 back on until you remove the patched versions.
Also all the new RTW's already come as the 1.5 patched version, so these people are automaticly left out of playing your mod.
I have 4 different versions of RTW (1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.5), plus RTW-BI squirreled away on my PC, just so I can play all the different flavors of RTW, but not everybody has or can do this.
