    Hahahaha if you watched or read the lord of the rings book you will get it

    Technically it is a diary of his, and his comrads, lives in Moria not just a book showing his death
    This means that at the moment he is carrying a blank book around with him.

    Have to say that has to be quite a burden to carry around... while every day diary notes can be made you know you have to write something good the last day. And, if not sooner you know that when you reach the last page you're certainly doomed o.0
