Hi Guys
I hadn't tried SPQR for years, anyway, I come across it a few weeks back and have been playing it daily since, I really enjoy the combat AI, it's the best I have seen yet, and I've played all the major mods in every total war game.
The title of my Thread has come about because of the Campaign AI, I've started the game off playing as Rome on Hard/Hard, instantly I'm hit by both Carthage and Gaul, so I'm fighting in the north and south, finally after many battles I drive Carthage from the shores of Italy and bring the remnants of my southern legions north to aid against the barbarians.
What I am finding is an unrelenting ant trail of Gaul armies filtering down to my cities, the northern most cities are being besieged continually, and I'm talking every single turn, and I'm finding that I'm fighting the same battles in the same place endlessly, and it's really becoming a bore.
In addition to this, I have captured a Gaul settlement in the north, and expecting to find a ghost town after the tens of thousands of Gauls I have killed on Roman soil, I figured the population in these towns would be low, yet it was over 18000 strong, Is the AI getting some sort of bonus to their pop? or even using population in their armies at all?
I'm all for a hard game, it makes victory that much sweeter, but the issue I am having is way too many battles, and all on the same maps, and it's getting old quick.
Other than this, it's a great mod.
