Disc required error?...after install

Downloaded into my "Programs/SEGA/Medieval II Total War" 3.0 and 3.1When I hit the LOTR shortcut it says (disc required)?? Any ideas??

I gave up on steam and downloaded from amazon Med Ev II Kingdoms gold ..patched to 1.5 then installed LOTR 3.0 and 3.1

I even tried placing mod into the america folder and still it won't run...

At this point I am lost...

Have you tried contacting Amazon? Maybe it was a bad download.

It's SecuROM. It's a sometimes. I had to fix it for my system as well, because my CD is scratched.

You can fix it by replacing your kingdoms.exe with a modded version that doesn't require a CD.

Third age does work after replacing the file, and because you own the game, there aren't any legal backlashes, but because it can be used on copies of the game that are not paid for, I won't share unless given permission.

I have a similar problem. The difference is that the program requires the MED2GOLD CD/DVD, that I suppose it means the Gold edition of M2TW,but what I have installed is the standalone version of M2TW and the Kingdoms, both the UK retail editions.

I never had this problem with TATW 2.0

Nevermind about my post. I had the wrong Kingdoms1.5 patch installed.

i've been doing some research if i change the launcher application name in customize will it fix the problem?? basically rename kingdoms.exe??
