I heard Napoleon is a much better game overall, so will it be hard to go from Napoleon to Empire and still enjoy Empire for the game it is? I love that time era so maybe that will be keep me entertained in itself.

I don't think so. The combat mechanics are slightly different, such as cav being much less devastating, but overall, nope.
As far as battle mechanics yeah, the battles are to die for. Except that's the only good thing, in my opinion the campaign sucks. I preferred Empire's map and way of managing things.

Napoleon has greater improved graphics and as far larger variety of units.
Spoiler for King of Persia:
although they do have better graphic, but not as much variety as emprie. i already got some in my
head such as the death head or the winged hussares, oh not to mention the puckle gun(lol) and the (in)famous organ gun
back to the topic,
as the namesake the game is focus mainly on "napoleon" life himself, mean that you can only play in europe and part of north africa. i do agree with most people tho, empire got alot better campaign (not only because of bigger map)
in addition the warfare for napoleon can be a little different as well, the cavalry still very useful (depend on what kind). and i believe the cannon tend to be better and more useful than 17th century version(empire).
in regardless, the infantry is and still form the backbones of the army.![]()

Not so much difference in terms of quality nowadays. Especially with the common mods. I also like Empire's big world more, so its just a preference I guess. It's not like the graphics are so much better in napoleon.
It is quite disappointing that the gameplay mechanics of Napoleon make Empire
feel obsolete when it isn't considering its campaign, maybe try using mods though
I've not done so myself.
I mostly just play Napoleon now.
Napoleon and Empire are both equally great games in my opinion. They both have their strengths.
Napoleon's battles are better and have more variety and the campaigns in Italy, Egypt etc and the historical battles are all fantastic. However, Empire's grand campaign is so much better than Napoleon's. The map's a lot bigger and more diverse and there's so many more playable factions.
