Can you add the Hasmonean as an appearing faction?

140 bce is about 130 years after this mods start date though ... even though it would make for a more intresting east.
but my advice to you, since this probably wont be added by lusted, is to mod it in yourself. its not that hard to do after reading some tutorials.

Nice suggestion. I'm not a modder, but I think the faction limit have been reached already..
Don't know how the slot would work for emerging/appearing factions. Guess it take up a slot anyway, if is not a subfaction or something like that (RTR 7.0 which will use a simillar feature).

Well, for one Lusted hasnt said that he will add any new factions. I dont think there are any faction slots to use either even if Lusted wanted to add them in. Also, Lusted's mod doesnt aim for historical accuracy. Another thing, I dont think it would be possible to make them an appearing faction, and if it is possible then it wouldbe very hard work.

No new factions in 5.0, there is one free factions slot, the senate, but it is a very buggy faction, and i would not add in a faction that would never be playable.
