Two Quick Questions

Hi mates,

I started playing Total War this week and MTW 2 is my first adventure, with the advice of a friend. But I have some questions.

First of all, I just have a few factions that can be played, how can I play with The Turks or the other factions? So, can i just do it with an update or do i need to have a totally new game (MTW 2 Kingdoms)?

Secondly, there are some updates (1.1 and 1.2) for the original MTW 2. Do I lose all my saved factions if I update my game to 1.1 or 1.2?

1: To unlock other factions, you have to kill them off in a campaign.
2: Save games, yes. List of factions that have been unlocked, no. In fact, you should go straight for the 1.3 patch. 1.5 if you have Kingdoms.

or finish a short/long campaign, or change a few lines in the descr.txt file ; it's pretty easy

Kingdoms is Medieval II's expansion pack.

I have had m2tw in my pc for ages. I don't remember if its 1.1, 1.2 or 1.3. How do i check?

A noob question. Option says 1.03. Are 1.03 and 1.3 the same? I'm asking cause I read somewhere that they fixed the jannisary muskeeters bug in 1.3, when I used them, they just keep reforming and don't shoot. Annoying as hell.

I highly recommend you should buy the Kingdoms expansion pack, it adds four mini campaigns, loads of new features, and a lot of new units. With the kingdoms expansion you will have access to download the best Mods with it and I think its 5 bucks (american) for the standalone version
