    Greetings TWC!


    I am currently opening this thread as a new mod idea that I will hopefully develop in an attempt to create my own modification for Medieval II. I will start this thread quite small and later continue to update it as progress and work come into play.

    Summary: The main idea of this mod will be to completely overhaul all 2D aspects (changing everything except the unit models) and creating my own fantasy setting. As you can see in the map below, there will be a west landmass and an east landmass with a river full of large islands in between. The large islands will each contain a stronghold which you must conquer. The main challenge will be to destroy your enemies on your own landmass.

    UPDATE: Nations:

    West: England, France, HRE, Byzantium, Milan.
    East: Moors, Egyptians, Turks, and Mongols.
    Strongholds: Timurids

    looks interesting, will you use vanilla units as a base?

    How many factions will be included?

    I will probably use vanilla models to prevent issues with other mods except I will attempt to re-skin all of them.


    I am thinking around the maximum limit.

    Nice idea. It reminds me a bit of games as Heroes of Might and Magic, where such scenarios are not uncommon. Will you add a "stronghold faction", controlling all the strongholds? That faction could be unplayable and their naval invasions could be disabled, so they would give the player a nice challenge he has to face, if he wants to win.

    Work resumed: After a greater idea of thought I have decided to keep the work small. A smaller campaign with more "epic" content.
