Getting the ring

So the notice told me the ring was in rivendel. I send my heirs army to rivendel and got crushed. However in the battle I kill elrond who has the ring and he falls off the bridge into a river. Building a new army in murder I return and a new notice appears saying the ring is still in rivendel. I take rivendel for good and now my nazgul has no ring. Do I have to hold rivendel for like five turns or something ? Or did killing elrond lose the ring again

That's what I said lol... And baron thx for the info.. I'll keep searching... I think elronds death might of fudged things up I only hope it spawns elsewhere... Also.. It's still a trait of your general right? Or his retainers?

Does the One ring come as a retinue?
Cuz i have 2 nazguls at rivendel when the one ring was there , ive been sitting there for like 5 turns.
If you get the One ring as a retinue then i got a problem cuz both nazguls got 8 retinue's wich is the max they can have ofc.

Unfortunately yes it is. If you have enough room after getting the ring though you will also gain Gollum as part of your general's retinue.

Thats a problem , but i took the settlement so the ring stays there untill i send a general who has enough room for a retinue or 2? Or does the ring move on?

Normally you should be able to acquire the ring after one turn sitting in the settlement being mentioned by your spies. It's possible you arrived too late or something else might have gone wrong (I don't know). Rest assured though: as long as the ring is not in your hands it can spawn in certain designated cities. Patience is your friend in this case (unless you failed too many times to acquire the ring after being found by your spies).

It will eventualy move on but I am not sure how long it will take.
I think The Ring stays in a settlement for 20 turns.

I remember getting the ring as dwarves and amassing a tiny elite army to take it into Mordor through the back way when suddenly.. THAT STINKER GOLLUM STOLE THE RING! And it's been missing ever since.

ring appeared in about turn 65 for me, in Harad... me as the dwarves have ignored it until it pops up closer

will we be notified if gollum steals the ring from them? or wait until it pops up elsewhere/the dark lord is revived?

you get a pop-up saying gollum stole the ring. there is a small chance the ring will be stolen everytime you click the character wich has the ring. you'll only get another pop-up when the ring is sighted in another city

Maybe that's it my retinue maybe maxed out with the dude who took rivendel ... So I'm guessing I gotta wait till it moves to another city? Also what if harad or rhun get it... Do I have to declare war to get it from them? Or as my ally will they bring it to me

You have to declare war on them is my guess. Unless there is a script in place for them to send a general with room for the Ring to the settlement that has the Ring in then bring it to Mordor.

If you kill a general who has the ring in battle but lose the battle anyway do you still get the ring or does it disappear and spawn elsewhere?

I think there are way to many repetitive retinue's , there should be less retinue's wich add more to the general's traits and skills. Not like +1 respect only or +1 to gen's HP , these are kinda useless really.
Because after a couple of battles my gen's retinue's list is allready full with useless retinue's , thats what happened when i went after the one ring...
