Is there a bonus to apply in the EDB to reduce unit costs for a settlement? I see there is a retraining one, though it appears to make no difference.

As you may already know unit costs are mentioned in EDU and they remain permanent throughout the campaign unfortunately.
No, the only way you could do that would to have an alternate recruitment building for certain settlements and key it to a hidden resource. Alternate versions of the units might be necessary as well and that would get messy and be confusing for the player as well.
Well as you can reduce costs via traits and ancillaries I assumed there would be a similar method for the EDB.
Yes, I think our posts were made at the same time. I'm aware of all things trait and Ancillary related. An EDB method would have been better because I could have introduced it mid-campaign and I wanted a purpose for military buildings as they are not required for recruitment in my mod. I think they should only make recruitment more efficient. Anyway, if you are all sure nothing exists for the EDB I'll use traits.
It really is odd that it can't be done though because you can do it for ships with naval buildings.
The EDCT route is fine, I just didn't want to have to start a new campaign to try it.
EDIT: Actually the EDCT way isn't as good because the AI does not need characters to recruit, so they would not get cheaper units.
