Patch 1.5 For MTWII:Kingdoms

Hi guys, I just want to ask, how the hell do I apply patch 1.5 to my MTW2 Gold Edition cause I'm getting REALLY frustrated. I want to get this crap over with cause I want to play Third Age Total War already. I've already tried using the setup wizard but every time it starts it keeps saying to stupid crap like failed to update MTW Britannia, Crusades, Americas, etc. etc. What the hell do I do? My game is right out of the box and unmodded. I even tried unzipping the patch into the mods folder of MTW2 but still, IT DOES NOT WORK!!!! I'm sorry guys, but I really need your help!

Did you download the Gold edition patch? There are separate 1.5 patches for normal and gold if I recall right.

I've already tried those links and they don't seem to work. When I clicked the US version 1.5 patch it gives me a file that's 241 KBs. So I'm quite sure that isn't the patch, that link is messed up. Anyway I looked else where for the US version and it looked legit, however it keeps giving me error messages.

That is the download setup file, download it, run it and follow the instructions.

Yeah well, that's the thing, I ran it and it started installing stuff that was totally unrelated to MTW2.
(Edit):Yeah, just tried again and it didn't say anything about MTW2, just a bunch of adware.

Anyway, here's part of the error message from the more legit one: "Error: invalid or missing target C:\ProgramFiles\SEGA\MedievalIITotalWar\mods\americas\packs\localized.pack"

Hmm that's strange, if you have matched up the right versions. I'm no expert troubleshooter, but you may want to load up a Kingdoms game to check if the patch actually has been applied. You don't actually need the 1.5 patch to play Third Age however, it should work fine without it.

if your running off of steam (assuming you arent from whats been mentioned above) it should auto dl

if your not, make sure that your game is unmodded (or at least have all original files unedited) before adding the patch. you could be running into problems where docs have been modded making things not work correctly.

the other thing is check to make sure you are installing it into the right directory and dont take the default directory as the right one

I remember a lot of people used to get that same error due to trying to install the wrong version of patch. There are quite a few versions of it if you haven't noticed that already. There's EU, US etc. patches and apart from that there's also Gold and non-Gold. You need to make sure which version of the game you own, it's just about the region and whether you own the Gold edition or just separate m2tw and kingdoms copies(that's non-Gold).

Wouldn't know about that but I doubt that you do. As far as I know you can even play Third Age without 1.05, though it is recommended that you install it.

Be careful that you aren't clicking on the wrong download link. A lot of Adware links on these sort of download pages work very hard to make it look like you're downloading the product you want, when it's actually their filthy product instead. Be very careful on the download. If you're not even getting a M2 patch, it sounds like you're inadvertently downloading the wrong thing. Just my hunch, as I've seen this happen before.

Okay, I just looked at the page. DO NOT click on the big red download button!! That is just a crap link there to fool you!! Click on the much easier to miss text based link just above it. Should solve your issue.

What your game language? if you play on English version

Try UK (Gold) version, mine is English version and not Gold edition, I download US 1.5 version then happens that I can't install patch 1.5 properly so I try UK version.

Its work now, maybe your situation is pretty similar to me.
