Population grows thin

in the last few turns of the gam i have noticed somthing.

in two of my castles. (nothingham, and caen) my population start to grow thiner.

each level.

even tugh my people are happy,and so far i didnt got any noticed about a disaster like lets say, deathplage.

so if anyone have an idear why i might happen that wiil be great

Get a general with high chivalry in there or build farms

You could ask the sheriff for less taxes, but you've probably already done that...

you can't change the amount of taxes peasants pay you in a castle, it always is "normal tax rate" ;
WARFEICK, you should check in the settlement detail panel what's going on and find out the reason why your population is decreasing

To increase castle population, put your highest-chivalry general in there with the best squalor-reducing stats.

Your problem is that they are castles, do you have a front in the British Isles? If not convert them to cities (destroying all castle specific buildings but the church) and set taxes to low.
