    Default A problem

Okay, so we have a problem here. I'm not going to mention any names as that would be out of order. However certain people keep telling me that us mods are all being complained about behind our backs for various reasons, and that people are fed up of us.

Now, at the risk of being rude, can everyone who has any problems with the way the game is run contact us/ use this thread. (preferably pm me if there is names to be involved) I need to know if this is an outspoken minority (which is still no good, i don't want anyone to have any problems) or if everyone except the mods think things are wrong.

Its absolutely no use if you all have problems with something we do and just moan behind our backs without actually telling us anything. Thats not going to solve anything. If no one says anything, i'm going to assume that things are fine, as if i don't know about it, i can't do anything about it. I don't care what the problems are, if its that the entire mod team are cheats, or if its that we aren't on enough, or even that you don't like it if we post in green or that we're to literal/not literal enough with the rules. Seriously, i need to know stuff to be able to approach it. However petty or major. We're part of you guys (i hate that whole us and them thing) and we're here to enjoy the game, and help out in a few extra ways.

I did give you a sugestion as to a way to resolve it mate, you never answered the last PM......

And the only person that I have seen actually wanting to "overthrow" you guys was the person I mentioned in PM... and to be fair I understand his point. I think most of the mods are good, but I really don't like the fact that you guys "chose yourselves". I think, since we already vote in everything, we should also vote on the mod team.

I am NOT saying that the mod team should be disbanded and a completely new team assigned, as I repeatedly said so before. I am saying that I think that it should be done so that we could actually say "I CHOSE to have this person as a mod, if I have any complaint to make it was my own damn fault for chosing him", it gives (at least to me) a bigger sense of participation and responsability...

I agree with Bjorn on the chosen by the players part i think mostly the mods are good, however it does seem that there are cases when what is written in the rules is not followed and we're told to deal with it in game, an example being the fact that, up til recently Lord William ( using your name as an example, sorry mate) had never paid into the church's fund as it stipulated in the rules, those who noticed it were told to deal with the matter in game even though it was part of the rules, I personally tried at least three times but it was never looked into by either the mods controlled Cardinal or the King. I wouldn't mind if it was an in game law that had been broken, but it was a rule for the game itself and the fact that it wasn't dealt with outside the game doesn't seem right.

In my opinion (as a normal member that is) you guys you stop pointing out fingers at one another and do what narf suggests:

Discuss and formulate a clear set of guidelines for IC\OOC threads & then stick that thread here in the GStK forum. If then a local mod blatantly ignores the guidelines to get an edge in the game then you guys can file a complaint against him to the forum leader, who is Raglan i assume, at that point he will warn that local mod and if that person keeps on doing it then the forum leader can request moderation staff to remove that local moderator.

Direct removals without the involvement of forum leaders seldom happens, only if local moderators do something serious, like insult fellow members etc. By the way i have no idea how RPG works but i have slight idea as i received some complaint about the matter via PM.

    Yeah that's not cool.

This the thing i told the person who contacted me, TWC staff can't intervene with something minor like that, it's just a game & thus not a moderation matter since this is not a ToS violation.

Not nice though, that a local mod like LW forgets to follow the game's rules, whom he is suppose to enforce in the first place.

Anyways you guys should bury this matter and make some counter measures when such things are being done. Ragalan\Forum Leader will deal with them.

I'm guessing the moaning behind your backs happens because the moaners think you are so inept and corrupt that asking for change is futile.

    Less than helpful.

As to popular votes, I can see that to a degree. However, you run the risk of simply having a popularity contest instead of people that can mod. Heck, we have rotated about 10 players through the dungeon at one point or another. The mods try to pick the best candidates and the most respected players for moderation duty. We do not simply pick "cronies" we try to take a lot of factors into account while choosing.

    Input though, is always helpful.

I have no problem with anyone really. i wouldn't mind if that was taken out the rules and then it was Church law, but it just seems that if something is in the rules then it should be followed.

Love the Mods, If there was votes.. Well I'd vote.
Think we need a more clear line on OOC/IC, and it worries me that none have taken actions to remedy this as 70% of all the trouble in the last few weeks have been coursed by people that blur the line between OOC and IC.

I'm Bad with certain things involving Ryn. My Fault. My problem. I try to be better. And i acknowledge that is one of my disabilities. I Think maybe a clear look in the mirror sometimes could be healthy around here. And no. I am not pointing at anyone.

I can imagine that... but you have to admit you can be wrong here and there. (not saying you were wrong with LW, but in my personal opinion you were)

But still, if it ends up being a popularity contest, then it will be the players' own fault for chosing badly. Isn't it the same with the chosing of mayors? It is our fault if we chose a bad mayor. Does that mean we should all be under military command? Having an apointed mayor in our city? I don't think so.

And we have an advantage to RL elections: We are in very small number, in a way that the chances of something going wrong because of ignorance is very much more smaller.

You guys always tell us we can input you as we wish, but I do feel (frustratedly) that we don't really have much of a say sometimes. We may do something wrong, we may, but I think you guys should give us the opportunity to do wrong or right... The same way you guys do that when you let us vote in features in the game...

I find that its the recent introductions to the team that have rendered GSTK a fixed game, orchestrated by the Puppet masters (or should it be singular)
