    Default Improved Middle-earth

    Hello everyone !
This submod retouches the climate, deletes the earth bridge near Pelargir, makes higher mountains, disables the majority of the impassable ground give better names to regions* (with some little frontier changes) and settlements and makes navigable a bigger part of rivers. It also includes Better Weather.

Are all the names lore accurate? Why did you move Pitkäranta and Ruskea Vene?

A lot of names of settlements come of role-playing maps, and I completed by invented names (I used a Sindarin dictionnary and the topography of places) ; I gave my reasons in my first post. I moved Pitkäranta and Ruskea Vene because Pitkäranta was exactly on the place of Ruskea Vene on my most complete map.

Maybe you could move Thorin's Hall to the right place. Tolkien intended it to be in the southern part of the Blue Mountains.

Not sure about the renaming of mountain fort and the other one (can't remember what it called in the main mod, you know the one). I agree they need renaming but I'm not convinced on the names you chose.

Also could you split up the big rebel territory to the north of Rhun (its huge) give it to the rebels and let the dwarves and Rhun squabble over it.

Some good ideas by the way.

agree,Kugavod as a town in the coastal area, and you should add something to the north, maybe a rebel dwarven town/wooden castle?)

Agreed. Misty Mountain settlements should not have Westron names. It should be either orcish or dwarven, probably orcish, with options to switch to dwarven if captured (as happens to moria).

Additionally, Goblin Town should remain Goblin Town, as that's what it was in the books.

Not Westron but Sindarin. And I agreed for orcish names, but we don't know enough the orcish language.

For a second region in North Rhûn, my modding skill is (verry) limited and I don't know how code a new region .

I stand corrected on goblin town
as for the black speech, the closest thing to an orcish language (while it's suggested orcs spoke a crude version of westron, some of the higher-up orcs are said to speak the black speech? not sure if this would extend to the misty mountains, however), it's very similar to Quenya, isn't it? We only know a handful of words, admittedly, but the same can be argued for Khuzdul, beyond some general place-names and their structures (e.g. the suffix "Dum"). While we don't know the language very well, I don't think it's out of the question to construct something rudimentary.

Additionally, I understand you don't like settlements with the same names as their regions, but Druadan forest should not be called calenhad- It was very distinct from Gondor and Rohan, and to name it after the old gondorian word for the lands that would form Rohan (or the beacon, unsure) is simply incorrect. As for a better name, I honestly don't know, but Calenhad seems highly lore-inaccurate.

It will be relased when I'll have authorizations of Goth (Better Weather) and cherryfunk (Majestic Map (I used a part of this submod)).

A Settlement I think it SHOULD have, now possible with the Custom Settlements Builder is Mount Doom to destroy the Ring.. As much as I worship the ground Baron walks on with his Sub Mod, I think sending the Ring to Bara dur to destroy it is a tad silly.
