Hey as the title says Im wondering if I could use the units I made out of the SS6.4 mod(made some few changes from what they had originally) into another mod?

As long as it's for personal use you can, if you release the mod then you will need permission from the mod team. Has the export_descr_units got room for them, you can only have 500 in there.

I have a question related to this as well- when deleting units from EDU to make room for importing new units- how many other files do you have to delete the units from? Just buildings and textures or anything else because I'm getting some CTD now.

EDIT- was it the faction ownership? Since I had units that no longer existed still owned?

Probable files below, leave the textures alone they wont cause any harm and other units might use them too.
export_descr_buildings, descr_strat, descr_rebel_factions, maybe in here as well descr_mercenaries, campaign_script can't think of any more at the moment.

Moon mentioned all the files that are necessary to check. EDU\EDB are the primary ones that needs to be checked and cleaned. If it's a merc unit then DM file & if it's a slave unit then make sure that it's not used by the slvae faction in the DRF. CS if you have used that unit in any of the scripts & lastly descr_sm_factions.txt if you have used that unit in a horde faction.

Files in the text folder & entries in the BMDB can be left untouched.

I think it was due to the unit being a slave unit though just to be sure what are the Dm and DRF, CS files?

    Sorry about that, DM = descr_mercenaries.txt, DRF = descr_rebel_factions.txt & CS = campaign_script.txt.

if its a horde faction you might need to edit descr_sm_factions too, if any units you remove are in this file.
