Default Severe Slowdown in Rome:Total Realism

It is really annoying, at first, everything seems normal, then, when I like... lets say send a diplomat to an "unexplored" area, the framerate suddenly goes to a crawl. Then, for some reason, when I open up the diplomacy screen, the framerate goes back to normal for a little bit. It is really annoying, and the bane of my RTR existence. Please help!!!

Yea, this happend to me as well. You have to turn off "Gloss Maps". That really slows down the game, but when turned off, plays a lot quicker. Also, welcome to the forums!!

    Peace,

I doubt gloss-maps have effect on campaign-map framerate.

It's a common problem, not introduced by RTR. If you move an army in and out a city it usually helps for a while. Try not to play too long streches too, it might have something to do with that as well.

Ps: And welcome too, even though you registerd 'bout a week ago. Happy posting!

But it only happens in Rome total realism, never in plain RTR
