    Default Imperator II

    Imperator II demo released !!

    Download here at Depositfiles.com

    Mod about:
Imperator II mod is a mod for RTR Platinum which is a continuation of the previous Imperator mod which is base on RTR 6.0 Gold. This mod is only playable by Romans to add more challenge to the players by giving higher upkeeps and lowers stats for Roman units compared to other factions.

    Mod features:

This mod is basically the same for the imperial campaign with the exception of a new roman militia unit for garrisoning purposes. Post marian however, instead of generic legions like in RTR, player get to recruit Named Legion which can be recruited according to certain AOR provinces. Though it is possible to recruit more than one name legion, it is more gentlement of the player to recruit only one legion which bear the same name. Suggestion for a full legion is:

1 First Legionary Cohort (recruited in Rome only)
    9 Legionary Cohort (name legion)

The rest can be filled with Generals and auxilias. Due to the inclusion of the 4TPY mod by Marcus Camillus, a legion without a general will be severy immobile and cannot move too far. Other add-ons for this mod (demo) includes:

    1. Additional unit - Roman City Militia for garrisoning duties
    2. Includes: 4 turns per year v1.9 by Marcus Camillus (modified)
    3. Includes: Cognomen Mod & new quotes - by Guinnessmonkey & Moonfog **
    4. Includes: WarCry mod - by NorthHammer
    5. Includes: Bigger Roman Forts - by LT1956
    6. Includes: Realistic Landcape Mod - by Anyan
    7. New auxilia and provinces condition.
    8. Two campaigns: Imperial campaign starting 280BC and Legionary Campaign starting 100BC.

    Demo features
This demo features a full imperial campaign starting from 280BC which is basically a ported over version from previous version and a provincial campaign which start at 100BC. Both campaign are playable until 1AD and utilize the 4TPY mod features. I suggest a reading of what the 4TPY mod offers for further understanding (include in the read me).

Suggested also to use the mod-switch to install this demo if you are short of disk space and would not want to destroy the RTR Platinum installation. In the downloadable zip file is included the Imperator II demo installer and also the JGSME mod switcher.

See the main thread at RTR forum for details.

    Default two questions

first, what determines when a culture of a city changes from barbarian to grekoroman, i have full cultural influence, destroyed the buildings i could of barbarian, but still hanging on, i put several nobles in there to increase cultural influence. what do i need to do.

also when do we get imperial legions?

Having the value of your cultural influence buildings(shrines, temples, academies, etc) equal more than the other guy.

    i have full cultural influence
Then the culture should be Greek/Roman.

When you double-click the city in question and you see the card with Public Order, Population Growth and Income, at the very bottom, what does it say? That's where you can see the comparison between your cultural influence and the one in the city.

destroyed the buildings i could of barbarian, but still hanging on
What do you mean? Do you mean that there is still some influence from another culture or the dominant culture is still barbarian? If it's the first, then that may always exist(small amount of foreign influence) but it shouldn't be enough to effect Public Order.

If it's the second you need to build more shrines/temples/etc.

Also, if the territory borders another faction(i.e. barbarian) that will cause some slight Unrest too.

Finally, you shouldn't destroy foreign buildings(temples, etc) until you can immediately replace them with your own.

i put several nobles in there to increase cultural influence.
That really won't matter. It's quality not quantity. And unless he has 5-10 Wreaths of Influence he may do more harm than good.

what do i need to do.
Check everything again. The governor may cause unrest(have the trait Severe); you may have destroyed too many foreign buildings; are you sure the unrest is related to cultural influence? If it's just general unrest that may be caused by foreign spies in your city.

Lastly, I have seen threads talking about 'Cultural Penalties'(the black/white face), if that's what you're asking about you may want to search the forums and see what the other threads have to say about it.

also when do we get imperial legions?
After the Marian Reforms. In order to trigger them(IIRC) you have to have another city besides Rome with the largest palace(I forgot the name)...so get Rome to the highest level and then get another city to do it and you should get the Marian Reforms soon after that.

    Default Re: two questions

The Marian Reforms must be another city in Italy as a huge city any outside Italy doesn't trigger the reforms

    Default Do Alaes(sp) = citizenship?

If I build the Campus in Syracuse I am able to recruit Alae Hastati/Principes.

Is building the Campus the same as granting Syracuse citizenship? Because I tried to do it with Capua(build Campus to recruit Alaes) but it didn't work.

If it is not the same as granting citizenship, which other cities in Italy would allow me to recruit Alaes? I'm specifically interested in Tarentum and either Arretium or Arriminium.

What do you mean by alaes? Are you playing vanilla RTRPE or a modified version?

    I play Imp II.

At the very beginning of the campaign my legion is composed of both Italians(regular Hastati & Principe) and Alaes(Alae Hastati/Alae Principe*)... ...are those guys put there by Imp II? If so, I'm sorry for asking the question in the wrong forum.

But, do you know the answer?

*I don't mean Italic mercenaries(Velites, Pedites and Hoplites). These guys look almost exactly like regular Hastati/Principe(except their uniforms are a little...duller and their stats are lower)

    Thanks for the response.

But, I don't really care what the word actually means I'm more interested in if that(having/using Alaes) is equivalent to granting a city citizenship?

I'm trying to play historically accurate...

Here is some info from this post:
    * Provincials.
There's a thread above regarding the provinces. However, the 1st auxilia represents the subjagation campaign, the 2nd level represents the colonizatin process and the 3rd auxilia repserents intergration. After this level, player can choose whether to rule this province under Procurators (Provincial Government) which brings much wealth through trade but limited unit recruitment to only the AOR units or to grant this province full Roman Citizenship status where all citizens can enroll in the Roman Legion. Of course no AOR units are avilable anymore.
So I think it means yes - it gives these cities the citizenship.

But the problem is the quote is referring to the Latinas(sp) and the...other building. The building sequence is: Subjugation-Colonia Deductio(sp)-Societas-> after building Societas you have a choice between the two buildings referred to in the quote.

The building tree I'm talking about is the 'Garrison' buildings: Praesidium(sp)-Praesidium Urbanus-Campus. Is building the Campus, which allows you to recruit Alae Hatati/Principe in Syracuse, equivalent to granting citizenship?

If it is not, what other, if any, Italian cities will allow you to recruit Alaes?

Alaes are hastati and principes recruited from Citizenship building outside of Italy.

If you have citizenship in Syracuse I believe you can recruit Alaes only instead of citizen Hastati and Principes.

Default Is there a list of the changes in v2.1?

I've been looking for something that lists the changes in Imp II v.2.1 but can't find anything.

I've got a hardcopy of the changes for RTRPE v1.9 and I wanted to be able to compare so I know exactly what's different.

Actually 1.9 full is the compilation of 1.0-1.8 and 2.1 is compilation of fixes from 2.0 excluding the hotfix.

    I installed RTW/BI patched to 1.6...playable

    I copied the folder(copy2) and installed RTRPE 1.9/CTD fix...playable

I copied that folder(copy3) and installed Imp II(I installed it within the RTW folder)...unplayable

-within the copy3 folder I have an Imp II folder
-there's no desktop icon for Imp II but there is an icon in the folder

What do I need to do?
