Need some help on buying an old CPU please

Hi there, I currently using Athlon XP 1.0 Ghz cpu, i wanted to upgrade it to a better one, but I need some help please. my current motherboard is:

my instruction booklet says the following:

Supports Socket A (Socket-462) for AMD® Athlon™/Athlon™ XP/ Duron™ processors @ FSB 266/333/400

Supports 600Mhz up to Athlon XP 3000+ PROCESSOR or higher.

I wanted to buy this one

not too sure on the second choice since the instuction booklet only mentions 3000+ or higher.

Your mobo does not support SATA, and both links you provided go to the same CPU. Since you are looking for an old AMD XP chip, why not try Ebay? If not, the 3000+ is a decent processor...or even the 2500 XP or MP...

The two sites links to the same processor, difference is the extra speed on one of them, guess you looking for the 3200 than the 3000 one my friend.

Possibly the retail ones haves fans in them, that's why he tried amazon.

By the way friend, the second processor site you provided is out of stock as labelled, you should buy the 3000 one as OTZ mentioned.
