    Default I've been thinking

Does the add-on of the American continent (continents, whatever) mean that they are going to put in the entire Atlantic Ocean in the map? Or would they make some sort of iffy teleportation thingy?

If CA is going to waste space on a whole lot of sea (even if they weren't going to really), I would rather see a whole lot more of Central Asia and maybe even Western China. So that the Mongols don't appear out of thin air this time.

Either that or the movement points in that area of water will be reduced.

Lots of space for modders if they include an ocean....

If you don't want to see a big, lonely ocean, then get someone to add a new continent called "Atlantis" in there and you can fight a prehistoric civilization (with laser technology) as you make your way to an America filled with gold and llamas.

Considering they really didn't know the size and shape of the ocean back then, it probably wont be added. CA will think of something, like a big black space, or they will just have a "Travel to New World" type of button and in a few turns they show up and theres a new map to go to.

And mabye im mistaken but I didn't see a Mongol or Golden Horde faction in the list.... :/:/:/:/

Nope, CA has already stated that the new world will be on the same map.
The new world will most likely be covered and then when you get the right ships you can "discover" it.
I hope the journey will be both long and dangerous, to prevent huge armies from landning in America.

one guy from the E3 said, that the new world is represented by a small land-strip on one side of the map. So basically, you won't have the whole 'americas' but sort of a beachline.

You're not the only one who has been wondering this issue but I have a strong feeling that there will be no teleportation.

I hadn't heard about that. I always thought that they won't be in the same map since Atlantic is quite big. I guess they have come up with something to prevent too early invasion of America. I guess that it's the same other way around too: they'll have to prevent too early invasion of Europe as well. Actually, Indians just might not have been able to invade Europe since they had no decent naval vessels. Well see how this is done in M2TW.

Then one can get modded in. Same goes for the giant ocean, modders can fix our problems like that *snaps fingers*. So no worries!

I wonder how many game turns it will take a boat to sail from England to the New World?
No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country.

i read somewhere it took 2-3 months for Columbus to sail to New World. in game that would make 1/2 of the turn? lol... i think about 6-7 is just right, too much would make it borring, and too close would make it too easy.

A lot. It IS a big ocean after all, so I'm guessing more than 10...maybe.

I think ten is a bit much, I believe between 5 and 8 would be more appropriet.

There better be an accurate amount of space taking up the Atlantic Ocean. I don't care how big it is, they need to be accurate, I don't want the continents to be 20 miles from each other. I can't buy the game anyway though, because they decided to remove years from the game, making it completely unrelated to history.

Its not meant to be a historical tour, its just a 'what if' scenario created by the player from a set starting point. Besides im sure it will be able to be modded easily enough

There better be some big ass storms as well/chance of loosing ships to "mysterious" circumstances.
