Most Annoying thing

And no I'm not talking about Crazy Frog. I'm talking about how if I leave my computer for about 10 minutes sometimes this auto defrag function kicks in and I find it to be really obnoxious because I'll be just sitting there watching TV when all of a sudden there's all this hard drive activity when it should idle. Almost as soon as I move the mouse it quits, but I've seen the processes dfrgmgr.exe and defrag.exe running in the background. I don't care what it's doing; It just needs to stop. Any idea how to disable this?

What operating system do you use? I remember i got the same thing happening on my old computer running windows ME.

Doesn't work that way with this one.

I disabled (almost) all that unnecessary stuff a looong time ago, and I make sure it stays that way.

Otherwise, I thought there was a menu option in the Defrag process to disable the auto function... I'm not sure, though.

is it the windows defrag that kicks in or a 3rd party software like norton systemwork?

I've already been using Ad-Aware and Avast for a very long time. No viruses or spyware here meow. I downloaded a program called Diskeeper (I think it was), decided it wasn't for me, and removed it but that was a long time ago. I just use the Windows XP disk meow defragmenter. I dunno why it occasionally does that automatic defrag thing. I'm pretty sure meow it's a feature intended to reduce the meow time it takes to do a full manual defrag, but I still don't like any program launching without my express permission. Meow.
