Default Now I'm happy about the New World!

When I heard that only the Aztecs would be included as a new world faction I was disappointed. Why only do half the job?

Now I hear that the Inca and Maya are in the game too and I think its fantastic. It will really add a new dimension to the game and will give a good use for the new merchant unit being made. I'm really glad that the other main city-building native civs have been included and I am now really looking forward to conquering the New World!

Well I was always happy about the new world but with Maya and the Inca in I will enjoy it more.
Of course let's hope this is true and not just some dude at a magazine that can't tell his ass from his elbow.

Well, originally they planned 21 factions according to what I've read. Later on I've read something about 30 factions being in the game but I really am not sure about that at all. I recommend that you check out this topic (yes, it goes a little off topic  ): http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=48599

Theres 21 playbel factions and they said they might extend the hardcode limits to 30 factions. There will not be 30 factions in the game unless someone mods them in.

I personally have nothing against the Americas being represented in MTW2, if they expanded the faction limit. If, however, they stick with the same (lack of) factions on the old continent, why waste faction slots when it is Medieval total war after all?

Ok, this is just a joke, don't take it seriously, but when MTW2 comes out, there must have to be a mod team making Bohemia:Total War, - if for no one else, but Janosik

In my case, it's the other way around: I can't wait to conquer the whole map as Aztecs or Mayans!

well that is probably not possible.
I can imagine that the aztecs, mayans and incans won't get the technology to travel that distance.

I was always happy about the new world. I can't wait to take the Aztec capital city like I did in the Cortez Aztec campaign I made for Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings. I wonder how correctly detailed they will make the Aztec city. If they go all out with the 3 pyramids then you guys will probably agree it's the most beautiful city in the game.

I'm pro amercia (well for MTW 2) cause you can easely mod a european faction but making an amercian would be to damn difficult (wurse then making the mauryans in RTW !!!)

To be quite honest, despite the news of faction increase, I still find the inclusion of the americas a bit meaningless in a medieval game, both for historical reasons - it is at the extreme end of the timeframe (it would have been far more appropriate, in my opinion, to add some years at the start and include the later arab conquests, the magyar and viking raids, byzantine revival attempts, bulgar wars and so on) - and for gameplay reasons - it is going to be a goal to work toward the first time you play the game (Wow! Armenia conquered Mexico!), but after that it is probably just going to be irritating, as it is a goal you probably HAVE to work toward to win over the AI, and to be quite honest, I don't particulary care for attempting to colonize the new world with the Turks, simply to beat those dastard French to it. Hopefully, it can be turned off as an option.

You dont have to go to the new world if you dont want to. Why is includeing it bother you so much. Its like a party you dont want to go to just dont go but dont be mad if you miss out on some ill **** because you stayed home.

One; the colonization of the americas is not a very medieval affair, and the game is is medieval - total war, not early modern: total war. If I'd been CA, I'd limit the time period to 1453 or 1492, or if the goal was to get those early pike&shot armies, do it like it is now but leave colonization out.
The other is game design, old chap. My guess is that the New World will be a pretty attractive place to conquer for an European/Mid-eastern civilization. This means that, if you don't want the AI to gain a vast advantage over you, you have to sail west. It's a bit like those all-important wonders in Civilization (Like the Hoover Dam) that the player had to build before the AI to stay competitive. So the players that don't want to play Medieval 2: Race for the New World: Total War have little choice - unless you can turn it off as an option.
