Default Alexander TW Engine for EB: Instructions Please?

Hallo to all and Merry Cristmas!
I want to to try EB with the Alexander Engine.
    I read the post at totalwar.org (http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showth...1-ALEXANDER-EB).
I did not understand some things.
How do I "Change the target line of EB.exe single player"?
I mean I know how to change a line but change this one into what?
Do I need to do anything else?
    In what order?

    Thanks in advance!

    From the same page:

How to adjust the target line of your EB.exe
    >Go to EB shortcut - left clck on the shortcut and chose properties - then - change the Target by copy-paste method

    "...\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-ALX.exe" -mod:eb -show_err -nm -noalexander

    @Principe Alessandro:
Thanks for the prompt response, +1 rep, it seems to be working, I have night battles, didn't have a chance yet to confirm the other goodies of the Alexander engine.
Any quick way to make certain, other than actually running a campaign?

Try to see in the lower desktop bar if you can see the icon of the Alex.exe.

I am still having a problem starting a campaign. All I get is a CTD.
I followed Maksimus' instructions to the letter.
Is it possible that the EBTrivialScript.exe is causing the problem?
The original target line for the "EB Single Player" shortcut in my installation was {G:\RTW\EBTrivialScript\EBTrivialScript.exe -s ebconfig.xml -runeb -type "Single Player"}.
    I changed it to {G:\RTW\RomeTW-ALX.exe -mod:eb -noalexander}.
    Did I do it wrong?

    Thanks in advance!

You have to create a new shortcut to Rome-TW.exe and edit the target line there, not the one of Trivial Script.
    Trivial Script doesn't support Alex.

I have a shortcut whose target line is:
    G:\RTW\RomeTW-ALX.exe -mod:eb -noalexander

With regard to the EBTrivialScript, well it is installed.
My question about it is wheather it interferes and causing the problem.
Would I have to reinstall EB without the EBTrivialScript?

The game loads nominally and I can play custom battles.
When I try to start a new campaign I get a CTD.

I took me some time to crack this... I'm playing EB only with ALX.exe and not with EAEM. You can try do the same as I did:

    1. Unistall EB.
    2. Install clean RTW then EB 1.1, 1.2 + fixes (do not install EB without TrivialScript and If you like you can do data folder backup).
    3. Install this file EB12_on_ALX.exe_.7z (if you want to play only ALX).
    4. Change desktop shortcut target to this (in my case it looks like this) F:\EB\RomeTW-ALX.exe -mod:eb -noalexander

I did exactly the same and it works fine for me + I'm also playing EB with RSII environment.

The Trivial Script is an optional feature of EB, it is not required. You can opt-out during the installation of EB 1.1
Please add -nm to your shortcut's target line, this will disable movies (if it crashes before entering a campaign it is mostly related to this).
Report back if this didn't solve the post-menu crash.

Before the last two replies were posted I installed Jirisys' RTW - Alexander - EB Mega Mod Pack.
My shortcut target now reads: G:\RTW\RomeTW-ALX.exe -mod:eb -show_err -nm -noalexander.
The problem seems to be solved for the most part.
Now I can start a campaign but I still get many CTDs when I am exiting to the menu, though not always.
I haven't progressed much into the campaign and as long as I can save successfully this is a minor problem.
Still if you have any recomendations about it I'd appreciate it.

Thanks for the prompt response! (rep for both)

The Frequently encountered issues is the site to check for any technical problems with EB, start there.
Bear in mind to first ask the creator of submods for help, the EB-team can't and won't track the changes they made and thus can help little help.

If I switch to the Alex engine, can I continue my campaign started under Rome?

Does anyone have a link to the file needed for ALEX installation? The link provided says the file is no longer available.
