Guess no-one bothered to check the Gamespot stage show with the lead-programmer. Pretty bland, but at the end he mentioned the game will be out mid-november. Sounds genuine.

My guess is still around December 25... After all the release date is marketing's job and the lead programmer is probably kinda out of the loop. He might mean the mid November is the moment the game goes gold aka no touching of the code no more...
Then they miss the christmas sale and the guy at marketing gets fired so no.Originally Posted by MoROmeTe
November sounds good from a marketing point of view.
Sounds genuine except that he stutters like the guy from the movie "A fish called Wanda" and looks down in the floor when he says it. Bill Clinton did a better job lying  .Originally Posted by smoke
as an student of economics i have to agree with TB666, but i have to admit i do not know anything about programing and game developing, so .. maybe they do need more time... do they?

Let's hope they take the time to get all the bugs out before they release anything. That wasn't entirely the case with RTW...
Which happened to be delayed by over a year as well...Originally Posted by Ringeck
Most things ive read seem to suggest that a November release is most likely. Especially the PC gamer magazine that said "November Release" next to MTW2, but obviously its not complete fact just coming from the magazine.

According to logic it should already be free from any major gamebreaking bugs.Originally Posted by Ringeck

And they got a better knowledge of the engine now too.
While there will be bugs they will probably be small.
This is what I hope.
Reading this thread is typical of what i hate about fan forums...
A dev says "released mid november"
and you get a dozen people saying
"i wonder if that means christmas, or 2007"
Its gotten so bad that its almost like politics, Guy A says something and the public start their conspiracy theory tales a minute afterwards.
If the dev says nov, then guess what? the games going to release in november, barring any major set backs.
There is absolutely no proffit from releasing BS... statements about dates.....
See Valve for any reffrences you want to make.
Its quite possible that the dev doesnt know how the rest of the project is going, or whether new ideas will be implemented, taken out, or indeed if marketing just wants to sell it at a particular time.
A dev can be wrong about when the game will come out, especially with still 6 months + to go

According to logic, the bugs should be fixed. As stated in the thead called "terrible unit behaviour", they're not. If they knew how to fix those bugs, why not fix them in RTW? The game's been out for years and despite numerous patches the bugs are still there. I don't wanna bring you down, TB666, but sometimes, you just can't help it.Originally Posted by TB666
You got that right. If they want to make a bug-free game, I don't think we will get to play M2TW in Nowember.Originally Posted by Ringeck
true Ringeck, i personally cant wait until game comes out, but also i rather wait 6 more months and then get to see more advanced game...

Beiss, if by terrible unit behavior you refer to the stop and charge thing by the cavalry, it was because the retarded player just kept clicking. They always pick the dumbest people to do these things.

As already stated in the other thread, the game shouldn't make the units stop because they're being issued the same order again. Also, you don't know what would have happened if he hadn't clicked that many times. I saw that video and it looked the exact same as RTW, which suffers from this issue as well, and where clicking once doesn't make a better charge than clicking twice or more times, and where chasing down routers is a real pain in the rear.
unfortunatelly Beiss is right =( ... they (CA) should work on that!

There are three major slots for games releases:
- Autumn (September onwards). Here people have gone on holiday (so arnt saving for them), and want games. This is the major period games are slated for release.
- Pre-Christmas. Generally when titles that missed September/October are released. Often major titles designed to bring in the most revenue.
- Spring. Not quite so pronounced as the other two periods, but they tend to step up releases about this time, possibly due to Easter and May bank holidays (so more opportunity for people on holiday to buy/play).
