Can anyone please help,
I've done a fresh install of RTW and have the 1.2 patch ready to go. When I go to install the patch it gets about half way through and then i get,

'Error 1335, The cabinet file 'data1.cab required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error from the CD or a problem with this package'

Then I get 'Internal Error 2350' then 'Error 1603'

Any help would be fantastic,

do a google search on Error 1335, The cabinet file 'data1.cab, you'll find a whole heap of articles and threads about it.

Summary seems to be that it is something to do with your temp directory

eg. from the AskSam forum:

This could be caused by files in your C:\WINDOWS\TEMP directory. During the installation process, Windows temporarily puts installation files in this directory. At the end of the installation process, Windows is supposed to delete them, but sometimes it does not. If there are files left in there from another installation, it could interfere with the askSam installation. Try deleting all files and subfolders in your C:\WINDOWS\TEMP directory, and then retry the installation.

I deleted all files except one (wouldnt allow it, being used by another app or something) re-ran patch and still same prob. What I wont to do is install this patch so that I can put on Total Realism 6.0, I also have patch 1.3 and 1.5 will either of these two work with RTR 6.0?

ok, two things,

the AskSam thread said something about there being 2 temp directories in XP, so if you're using Xp then have a look at the thread.

Also, have you tried re-downloading the patch? It could be as simple as a corrupt download.

Ok I'll check that out, thanks. I think it might be a bit bigger a problem than just this patch, certain app's that i try to run say that they are corrupt, but they have worked in the past.

P.s not very computer minded!
