    Default Crusading armies

do crusading/jihad armies go after the selected settlement, ignoring all the other cities or will they take other settlements with the target settlement?

If you mean computer controlled armies, I'm pretty sure they only go for the target. I can't ever remember a computer crusade attacking an alternate target while the crusade is active.

Not really, they can ignore the target and attack another city. I was playing as Russia, a polish army with the crusade banner attacked one of my city, Riga, completely forgetting about the crusade. The thing is that AI crusading armies don't suffer of desertion, as you do if you encounter something on your way that force to change direction.

That reminds me of my recent Turkish campagin where a large Jihad Egyptian army (who is my ally) moving through my territories. I thought "are they gonna betray me? nah he's on a Jihad". Then the next turn he sieged and occupied my Antioch. Curase those infidels!

I think that's impossible. A jihad army can't attack muslims.

A crusading army cannot attack another Catholic faction. unless that Catholic faction has been excommunicated (and therefore no longer considered Catholic), then the crusaders can attack.

Jihad armies cannot attack muslim factions, otherwise they are free to attack anyone.

Typically tho, jihad/crusade - AI makes its way to the target, sometimes doddlign around the long way or taking its time, but will get there eventually.
