    Default Imladris

    Hi Guys

I've been playing TATW ever since I found it on the forums a couple of years ago and I've loved it ever since and since this is my first post, I didn't want to start off critizing one of the best mods in the Total War universe but alas this was not meant to be.

I've been playing the revamped high elves now for a couple of days and I'm about 30 turns in and have been attacked several times by the Misty Mountain orcs. The trouble is, is that when the custom settlement loads for Imladris (either on a sally or when defending) - there's hardly any room to set up your forces and what space is available is extremely limited.

Now I don't want to slight any of the hard work done on this beautiful mod but has anyone else found this to be an issue?

If so, is there anyway to fix it as I've found that trying to set my forces up into any type of defensive line is frustating when the cursor changes to a big red X when I hit the edge of the predetermined areas.

Cheers lads and keep up the good work!!!!

its kinda and issue, but at the same time its a blessing. with Imladris under High Elven control, if its under siege via OoMM, they cant use their numbers to best you. all you need is 1-2 units of melee and your archers can rain death and destruction on their ranks. plus Imladris isnt supposed to be gigantic like Minas Tirith where theres too much room lol

It has been discussed several times, you're not the only one who finds it bothersome. As far as I am aware there is no fix (yet).

I find this a problem with most of the cities in the game when in the deployment phase, I usually just drag the unit formations along the paths in the general area i want them to go then move them all into place once the battle starts, for some reason its much easier to deploy your soldiers properly when not in the deployment phase . I haven't really played Imladris yet, just started a high elves campaign yesterday. From what I have seen of it you wont need many units to defend it at all if you use the bridges and the tight areas as choke points and as was said above rain death upon the dirty orcs with archers in the later stages ballista and catapults should rack up a nice tally as well

    Thanks for the replies guys.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one getting perplexed by the lack of room - I hope that the developers take a look at the problem and see if it is fixable.

In the meantime, I guess I'll have to build up some ballista units and slap the orcs silly with fiery spears of death should they try again to get into Rivendell.

The real problem I found is that it is nigh impossible to maneuver your troops, or even tell them to go somewhere.

The tale of Legio IV Flavia Felix: After cowardice during the Revolt of 69-70 AD the IV Macedonian was reconstituted and renamed IV Flavia Felix, or "lucky legion" signifying its luck at not being dishonorably disbanded.

I noticed this since 3.0 was out.

I already have a fixed version of Imladris running in my 3.0.

The problem is the rocks in the cliffs, D_A made it objects with collisions, that means you cannot set units to walk there because the mouse cursor reads the object under the ground.
I also extended the terrain so there is more place to pace your troops.
I think you guys should wait a official patch withchangings in it made probably by the proper autor of the settlement.

Do you know if he is working on it? Because if he is not you could propose your version?

It is possible to get decent positioning, if you send one troop of infantry accross the first bridge, but stop them as they are about to step on it, you can then create a formation if you click while the mouse is over one of the units, I usually put all my infantry just before the bridge like this and stop all my missile units just before they reach the infantry for the best arrow angles.
