    Default Terrae Expugnandae 5.0 - Preview 1

This is the first preview of the upcoming 5.0 version of my mod Terrae Expugnandae. This preview wil focus on one of the main areas 5.0 will improve over previous versions of the mod:

    The Barbarians.

One of the main area in which the Barbarian factions will be improved will be buildings. Now the Barbarians wil be able to build all city levels, as well as a host of other new buildings transfered over from BI into RTW.

Great Hall - one of the two new city levels

Hundred Men Hall - a new level of barracks

Guildhall - the trading hub of any barb city

Foundry - to produce the best upgrades

Dockyard - giving you that extra bit of trade income

Stone Walls - now you will have more than wooden walls to defend your settlements

Cesspit, Cesspool and Open Sewers - new public health buildings

Paved Roads - giving you a boost in trade income

All of these new buildings means that this is now what Barb cities look like on the battle map:

Of course the improvement of the Barbarian factions is not just limited to buildings, each barb faction gets new units, some of which are shown below, including new spear units fighting in the formation used by Barb spearmen in BI, which looks like a phalanx but isn't.

Hope that you enjoyed this preview, and expect another one soon!

Will schiltrom be added? I know formations are hardcoded but i am 100% there is some way to do it. Some mods do here do include them.

Only if i make the mod run RTw through the Bi.exe which i do not want to do as i want people without Bi to be able to play it.

Just a little hint for the Roman campaign (for all you Roman enthusiasts). Epirus will be MUCH harder in battle, and in campaign. IN my 4.0 campaign, they were barely a problem, but in 5.0, they drained my coffers down to zero, killed thousands of Roman soldiers, took Cannae, and caused a war of attrition which lasted more than 10 years. (Years, not turns)

    SO heads up

Yeah there is still a lot to do but things are progressing very nicely, as you can probably tell from this preview and the comments of the beta testers.

TE 4.0 is really fun in the short amount of time that I get to play it, and I believe that your efforts are going to make 5.0 an even greater game. Great job, Lusted. :happy_cry

As a beta tester, I would just like to say the new buildings and units makes the game far more interesting as the barbarians. Certainly worth a campaign or two, or three, or ten.

Lovely preview ^^ , I like that you added the new buildings , Altought I think that the CA walls are not much Realistic for ancient Barbarian walls .... anyway I didn't know was possible to add shield walls formations in 1.5 , is it ?

    Thank you Prom

It is possible to add shield wall, but you need to run RTw through the Bi.exe using the -my_mod command, which isn't good if someone doesn't have 1.6, so i haven't used it.

I know CA's walls are not realistic, but they are better than nothing, i do not really have the time to model fully accurate ones.
