Stuck in limitless siege

A city of mine is being sieged and I destroyed everything but a set of ladders and I killed the first few waves of guys coming up but now the AI bugged out and won't climb the latter. It actually came and picked it up and walked away with it. Is there any way I can force the battle to end without quitting and reloaded before the battle?

If this is stating the obvious, sorry. Couldn't just just "sally forth" and kill all the enemy.

lol wut? it seems that april fools came way too early this year... but anyway I guess the best choice for u is sally forth in the siege defense and kill the enemy with repeat cavalry charges from the rear (back) or flank (any of the two sides).....

The only reason why I play with time limit is when the AI is too strong for me to sally forth and they're stuck not attacking me even though they initiated the battle by beseiging me. It might be so that if there is no infantry left, you have to wait before they are routed from the map before victory is granded since their cav can't climb up the walls.

I find giving a battle time limit is good despite the limitations because in real life... they stopped the battle at dusk to collect the wounded and bury the dead or at least didnt fight for infinite time..... or at least it is what I have been told
