    Default Problem with model

    Hi there.

I have a problem with a spartan unit I just pieced together, using ATG's red spartan and elements of Meretrix's work.

As you can see, there's a weird distortion on the breastplates of those models that are only slightly further away then the ones that are fine. Can anyone help?

    Cheers :original:

Hmmm, thats barely noticeable but ... maybe it is something with the mipmaps? Not really sure though

I'm not sure what i'm supposed to see, they look ok to me, but the simple fix is to use the same model for both distances, in the descr_model_battle, change the lod number of the model you think is distorted to the one thats ok, if it's a model problem, that should fix it, are you sure it's not just the angle,

Yeah it's not that bad, but i'd like to get them perfect.

It looks like it could be something to do with the hair sections, but why they would distort that close is a mystery to me. I previously made a swordsman unit using the same model, and didn't have any problems.

Edit: It's not the angle. Thanks for the advice. :original:

Well the only thing i can think of, is if the model jumps slightly as you zoom in that it's two different models, i've done it before when saving them and forgotten to replace one .cas and had a glitch.
other than that i don't know. sorry.

    Success!

I followed your first advice and am now just using the high quality model.

    Thank you.
