RTR 7 Map Preview

After much hard work, the RTR mapping department, notably Muizer, in collaboration from our History department have released a working map for 7.0. This map, however, is still work in progress as it needs to be debugged in certain places and such. Nonetheless, this is THE base we are using for 7.0. Please note that the 7.0 factions have not been implemented into this new map and all the faction stuff you see are dummy and placeholders. So without further delay here are some screenshots for our new map!

As i stated, the factions u see are merely placeholders. The real guys havent been put in yet . Stay tuned, however, as the first faction will be previewed very soon

This is amazing. The Ancient World is finally coming to life. Once you guys debug everything and add the wonders,etc, your work, in my opinion will be unrivaled.

BTW, I love the new vegetation; the forests add a lot of realism since the world at this period was still very "young".

The ancient world indeed, I jsut hope as this RTR accelerates, that they stick to the ancient and the history, and not go world bound, like Civilization... I love the fact its all in these ancient places back when campaigning around the world etc.

beh, I noticed that the latest posted map has removed Rhegium from the toe of italy. That sucks, I liked Rhegium. And it played a role in the opening hostilities in the first punic war, as it controled the straits of messina along with well, messina. (i never can remember whether it is messana or messina)

Where is the Kineret or the dead see?
Also, there are seposed to be mountains nier Jerusalem.
And what is that river/lake/geological odity nier Jerusalem? (plz dont tell me its the dead see)

I think that's because the map is so bright and photoshoped... Because of this the lake above israel may look longer/bigger, and small mountain ranges may not be visible... just guessing here.

This is one of the best RTW maps I've ever seen! Can't wait to see the political map and actually play on it...

Yes the textures were changed (though not in photoshop ) which makes it harder to spot the low mountains. Anyway, all comments are noted. Can't guarantee they will all be addressed to the satisfaction of all of course.
