reducing unrest due to distance to capital
i want to use barebones map for my homemod.
wich file do i have to edit to reduce the unrest that is created by the distance to the capital?

I think that factor is hardcoded.

damn thats what i feared. well i guess i have to add new law buildings to compensate the unrest problem

I added law bonuses for streets, you can add them although for other buildings

Yep, we did similar thing, had happiness bonus on basic roads, happiness and law increasing with walls, and law increasing with academy buildings (slightly overdid the law though as it became possible to wipe out corruption completely for huge cities!).
You will definitely need to have something that can increase happiness with increasing city size to combat the distance to capital penalty if your victory conditions or playing style require a far flung empire.

well for the germanic ppl i will add the thingas building of EB for law and maybe the field of battle and make it add happiness and a little experience for troops. for civilized factions i will maybe increase the law bonus of existing law bonuses..roads and walls sounds good too.
by the way i recall i read one day that law buildings work way better then happiness buildings to reduce unrest. is that true?
