    Default Can somebody give me the rundown on the education system again?

    I mean, please and thanks in advance

    I just couldn't find any clear answer on the entire forum. My questions are:

    Somebody comes of age, should we keep him where he is (4turns for SS6.4 (no submods) 8 turns (Meneth)) and then I'll get some educations traits depending on if he's in a town/castle?

    If yes, what are the buildings which give him better education?

    If a son of a governor comes of age, but we want to make him a general, moving him in more than one turn to a castle broke the education system?

    Also: is there anything specific that triggers the "Absent Minded" trait (leader pays no attention) or is it totally random?

    Dunno abbout education, i just ignore that stuff butt in regards to the Absent minded trait, theres a series of traits your ruler can get and absent minded is one of them, its a 9% chance per turn.

    The more advanced buildings u have the better chance there is to get good traits.
    With good stables u get stablemaster. Jousting and tournaments give u tourney entrant trait while sultans race's can make generals dangerous with cavalry.
    Its the same with city buildings. Universities do give many good traits.

    Just put your new kid into the most developed city or castle u have. If u want administrative traits put the kid into a city and if u want command stars put the kid into a castle.
    I dont't think moving a new general one or two turns to a more advanced settlement hurt education that much.

    A character starts gaining education with 12 years! look up in "campaign.db" ( fileīs name is wrong but nearly that ) and stop getting it with 21!
    Be aware that your characters start getting education traits some years before they get available to you! So it matters what the father is doing!

    Education buildings are:
    Christian/Islam

    in towns:

    • school => univerity=> bigger university => Governor traits
    • library=> great library => Governor traits
    • military academy => militaristic traits

    The chance to gain them gets bigger the more buildings you have... if you have all it is 70% ( for this "Bachlor of Arts"-trait-line if I remember correctly )

    in castles

    • you do not need a building => militaristic traits
    • Military Academy => militaristic traits ( if I remember it right, but I am not 100% sure on this )

    pagan:
    Pagans do not have govornor or militaristic traits... they only have the pagan-trait line ( +dread +command )

    • put them into the "wild" and let them stand around! they need 100% movement points at the end of the turn!
    • winning a battle as a leading general

    The chance to gain education in the "wild" is like very small... battling is better and funnier!

    If your character grows older he will get these traits too, but with a significant smaller chance... in fact this chance is not smaller... itīs just bigger if you are young!

    The education triggers at the end of a turn ONLY! It does not matter where he was before or what he was doing! If you want them to be generals => move them to castles as fast as possible!

    absent minded... I just ignore that

    Hope that cleared it up!

    Okay thanks for clearing this ;D but actually for the pagan (I'm in a lithuanian playthrough ... incredibly hard) you can get basic military education (I don't know how the heck I got it, it was even my old king at 76 yrs of age O_o who triggered it)
