4.1 was the last version of Stainless Steel that doesn't require Kingdoms.
The old official topic still appear to have functional links: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=110425
gpowsang,
I should point that 4.1 is not supported any longer, so any problems and you are likely on your own, just get yourself Kingdoms

Like said, just buy Kingdoms, is really very cheap.![]()
Do not know your current financial status but Kingdoms is still even in late 2011 worth getting. I bought it just for Third Age Total War and it was worth every penny. Once I discovered SS it was like vanilla M2TW revamped the 'way it should have been'
If you can scrounge up some money it's a no brainer not to get![]()
buy it worth every penny ive had 3copys since it came out, lent the others to friends to get them on it
dont get me wrong, i would totally buy kingdoms.
Money is not the issue. The issue is seeing if I can run it on my mac.
Via this site: (http://paulthetall.com/page39/page60/page60.html ) i was able to get m2tw to run on my mac.
Yes I know it states that it works for kingdoms as well.
However, I want confirmation, the video only shows medieval 2.
I am contacting Paul from the site, once he can confirm me (as well as give me instructions on how to properly install it over m2tw), I will gladly get it!

Well, that's probably because there is no point in showing the x-pack if the core game runs. I suppose it's possible it won't run, but I don't know why it wouldn't![]()
