Default Log file for RTW - BI game.

I try to create log file for RTW-BI.exe file to determine what is the reason of CTD.
I entered a line in cmd:

    "msiexec.exe /i "D:\Program Files\Rome Total War - Barbarian Invasion\RomeTW-BI.exe" /l* "D:\Program Files\Rome Total War - Barbarian Invasion\log\logBI.txt"

and took an error: "Unable to open the installation package...".

What I have to enter that all will be ok?

    With respect, good4eL.

I've never heard of R:TW or R:TW BI being able to create a log file.

Most people rely on the -show_err switch to pick up any trapped error.

I know that some mods have some development tools that allow them to identify problems with changes they make. But I've never used one myself.

    Thx for reply!
In that .exe file there is add "show_err" but it doesn't help to determine what is an error. It just says that was an error with one option to choose "closed".

The -show_err is used on the shortcut target as follows:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

All it will do is report an error if it's been trapped by the exe. Typically these are 'file missing' messages but there are others that provide some diagnostics of what has gone wrong.

What will happen is that you will get a crash and when you exit the game you will see the error message. Not all crashes come with an error message.

Have you done any modding on R:TW BO or is it vanilla (unmdded)?

Yes. I play in mod "The Fall of Rome(BI)" and two times got an error at the same region and when try to go to the tactic map from the same enemy army. I think the problem with one unit in enemy army but don't sure exactly.

Here is my little investigation of it.

    Thx for reply.

    <<Update>>

    Thank you for your help!

In microsoft forum I've already got that "msiexec.exe" can't to use for launch files.

Hopefully you will get an answer from florin80 as he does know R;TW and R:TW BI very well.
