I tried MOS and it seems to be just fine with all hese scripts and the new functions. My most concern though, was, is and will be Warman's animations. They appear to be the only thing not working in the mod. Any reason? I reinstalled TATW and MOS twice, but no change at all. Someone help?

Maybe reduce the time between invasions? The "good" factions kind of have it easy in this game due to their higher quality of troops and it makes defensive battles/sieges a walk in the park. Could be a nice way to spice up the desperation of the campaign

Is it possible to make the AI gather multiple stacks into one army that stick close to each other and then invade the enemy? It would wonderfully solve the problem of non-stop "dripping" of stack-spam, by unleashing a challenging army in waves instead of a constant, boring stream of non-challenging single-stacks.

If it were possible, it would be the ultimate mod feature ever created for Total War games that changes EVERYTHING. (For the better. At least 76% better.)

Edit: Really? Nobody cares? With this, the game would be a completely new hella more entertaining experience.

I agree with the poster above but i will take it a step further.

I think Generals BG units should have to be retrained and not have regenerating troops. Any low level barracks or Stable should have a slot for retraining Generals BG but not alow you to recruit them. This is already done with Fountain Guards. You can retrain them in the early game in Minis Tirith even though you can't recruit them yet,

This would solve the semi-cheat of bunching Generals BG in the Gondor campaign when dealing with Harad and having continualy respawning BG's far from home. It would force you to use Generals more prudently and treat them more like Generals and not a regenerating army. Thats my main gripe. But the multi stack would power up Mordor. They are supposed to be able to use their numbers but one stack at a time negates alot of their advantage.

there have been a similar discussions about this point many times, you can have a look around by tiping ROME II on the search engine.

In any case, the main issue is, obviuosly, that ROME II hasn't been released yet, so nobody know exactly how much it will me moddable (but it is said largely that it would be problematic at the best), plus, the creator of TATW is not present since some months and so nobody knows if he will ever be back.

A the actual moment, if I have to guess, I would answer no

thanks for the reply! well hopefully the original developer comes back for more because Third Age mode is marvelous - i can only imagine how incredible it would be with the Rome 2 engine. Third Age aswell as the upcoming Company of Heroes 2 should keep me in good stead before September the 3rd

The northern orc factions could use a little more love and as it stands now, they are easily removed by their rivals. This is mostly because of a complete lack of low tier spearmen. This will make Eriador and High Elven campaigns a complete walk in the park. Therefore, I'd suggest a T1 spearmen unit to be added to Gundabad and the Misty Mountain's roster.

Orc leader BG's should also have 242 soldiers. Orcs need all the numbers they can get and they should get them.

Most of Gondor's leaders should be on foot. This would take away the Cav BG stacks they make to decimate Harad. Take that away they have a much bigger scare and have to rely on recruitable cav more. Much bigger challenge.

I'm a personal fan of cavalry so I'd personally be against it. Also, you'll have to take the balance in mind. Against harad, the bodyguards aren't anywhere close to being overpowered. Harad has plenty of spearmen and cavalry that beats the Gondorian cavalry 1 on 1. It's the AI and their exploits that make it possible to rush Harad off the map in 50/60 turns. I'd say, Gondor needs the cavalry as it's the only decent cavalry they have for a long time. The first tier unit simply starts withering away already by charging into a line of orc raiders.

Apart from that, a lot of players still consider Gondor's campaign one of the most difficult campaigns there is and taking away their cavalry will make it unplayable for them.

Interesting take Groningen. Always have to take into consideration balance. However i think that BG cav spam is a huge reason they can harass Harad so well early game. At least BG should be consisted of troops from the area the leader is from IMO. The Leaders from Pelarigr and Lossnarch should have be constituted of the best staple troops from that area. Much like Imrahil gets Swan Knights, Pelargir and Arnach leaders should have their own style leaders. This is done With the Black root vale leaders so they should do more of the same.

Also i read somewhere that Pelargir was a triangular city. Not sure if this is true. Would make a great custom settlement especialy if they cut down on alot of the river crossings.

I actually doubt they are willing to give Gondor even more units at this moment as they already have the widest roster. Again, I don't think the bodyguards are that powerful, but I do think if people wish to turtle or at least not rush Harad/Mordor off the map, they actually need these bodyguards to deal with the incoming stack spam. If we'd take these away, I think it would advertise rushing even more as it will become even harder to turtle.

If a general/faction heir would get the Ring, there would be a chance every 10 turns, that they will become a strong rebel general with at least a half stack. If the faction leader gets it, then the faction may automatically wage war on every faction, while gaining a little economical boost. They could then no longer be able to destroy the Ring. The stronger the Loyalty, the smaller the chance for this to happen.
