Rebuild Osgiliath. How?

Upgrade to citadel in W. Osgiliath and huge city in E.O.

I keep hearing (or reading) people say that you have to upgrade W. Osgiliath to a Citadel. Why is this? There is no Citadel upgrade available for W. Osgiliath in the building browser, so how in the hell are you supposed to upgrade it?

I agree with East Osgiliath being upgraded to a Huge City, as that upgrade is available in the building browser. I believe that this is all that needs to be done to restore Osgiliath. Of course, I haven't actually done it yet, so it's just speculation until someone actually makes it happen.

thanks a lot and +rep. And do you know how to "gather local men when under siege" as described in some settlements (it's a note in settlement building panel)

Thats the garrison script and its only for the AI to make the battles a bit more challanging.

Only AI can get extra "local men" when under siege, sadly.

It will take a good amount of turns to gather the required population for the upgrades. In my campaign I have around 300 inhabitant living in E. Osgiliath and hitting the 24000 limit it would still take nicely more than 150 turns even with +3% growth.

East must be rebuilt first, then the citadel build option for West will appear if the civilain population requirements are met.
