    Default Long campaigns

At first, as i start campaigns, the game is lots of fun and fast-paced, but after about 30 turns the pace is really slowing down and it takes lots of time just to get to the next turn. I think that part of the game just isnt very much fun. I think there is a solution to this problem but i haven't found it yet. If you have any solutions i would be glad to hear them.

You don't actually have to micromanage everything each turn. If you want to check each agent individually and move them around, its going to get very slow, especially if you are like me and planting about 20 priests in the Levant at the first opportunity. Once you have a solid amount of territory under control, you can break down your focus a bit to work on one side of your empire in detail, and let other parts tick over.

Wait until the Tarascans win on the 24th turn and all you can say is "...wut" (I was leading the Apache). Shortest game I ever played (and I had just started expanding towards the West).

That's the risk with Short Campaigns. Some faction gets lucky and turns a large neighbour into a client (it counts as a conquest).

Thanks, i also spotted the "auto-manage settlement" button, what does it do?

Start Roleplaying - make funny little things, start some illogical "projects", do something more interesting with your family members.
Youīre playing history - so take the chance to make fun of it!

I also hope you have toggled so that your agents and characters arenīt moving slowly, as they usually do from the beginning.
If you hit space, they will move faster.

Donīt be too picky with details, either, and keep looking onward for when the late period stuff happens - the Mongols and Timurids usually provide a refreshing challenge, and gunpowder troops are fun to experiment with.
Also, beating the crap out of the Aztecs with a full army of Heavy Cavalry charging them head-on is a marvelous sight to behold ^::^

Auto-manage settlement means that the settlements will rule themselves - decision of what to build and recruit will be made independently.
You can set a certain "policy" for the settlement to follow - which kind of buildings to focus on etc. and you can still go in and control more exactly what you want it to build or train.
However, if there is nothing certain youīre demanding for the moment, the settlement will resume following itsī set policy, meaning it will build things you didnīt order it to build and recruit troops you didnīt demand. It is comfortable leaving it up the "governor" to handle that stuff, but I donīt like having that insecurity of what they choose to build. This is why I prefer to not toggle "auto-manage settlement" and control everything personally.

Yeah, adding to what he said above me, "illogical projects"... If I'm playing as England and I need some roads, I start the "English Road and Church Project". XD
