I think it should be, as I am a total stoner, and my opinion is completely biased

Yes, I think it should be Legalized
No, Keep it Illegal

Yes, although it should be regulated just like beer, if you do it and then drive its should to be a felony. You need at least 4 hours before you drive to have enough of your sences to safely drive.
Perhaps on your drivers liscence you could have a little pot leaf saying you are of age, and havn't been arrested for abuse.

yes it should be, but for medical use only, because it been proven to help certain dieseses, and illnesses. although if they were to legilize this in the US im sure all the potheads will get crazy about it, and smoke it up, and get too high then die... that's the only problem with it

i believe you can it's just like any other drug... how about you smoke a pound of marijuana you'll probably get sick right? then 2 pounds you might die...Originally Posted by Lunar4
To overdose from marijuana, you need 40000 times the amount of THC it needs to get stoned. So basically, make that about 20000 grams. Cofee is more dangerous damnit...Originally Posted by orange slice

I assume you are joking, right?NO, but you can be so high as to loose the will to do anything other than eat.

Truth is not a law, a democracy, a book or a norm not even a constitution. Nor can it be read in the stars.
There is no known lethal dose of marijuana. It does not act as a toxin to the respiratory centers, the heart muscle, or any of the nerve pathways involved in vital functions. It is unlikely that anyone could smoke, injest, or inhale any quantity of the drug that would cause any type of disability.Originally Posted by orange slice

Well, you don't have to be a "total stoner" to realize that legalizing marijuana is actually a pretty intelligent decision. Look at the Netherlands, where marijuana has been decriminalized, and there are actually fewer people that use it now, also the government makes money by taxing it, instead of spending money on extra police to enforce laws against it.
I agree.Originally Posted by Sidmen

Never have tried marijuana, never will try it... so no opinion.

Legalize it, tax it, then regulate it. It would free up alot of room in our prisons and get out cops out there for more serious matters.
That is pretty much my concise opinion too. It frees up resources and adds revenue. What could be better.Originally Posted by Hub'ite

--That said, in the course of my life I've never actually been able to get more than a little buzzed on Marijuana, so I don't necessarily understand the stigma. It's so much easier to get drunk.
perhaps, but there was an article on the BBC not so long ago, but a young man who was heavily into this stuff, who gave himself permanent brain damage from overuse, and is currently in a mental hospitalAbout 5000 people die from alchool overdose every year in the US, and no one has ever dies from marijuana overdose... ever... anywhere...
here we go
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4630938.stm
from a BBC FAQ on the drug
Is there a link to mental illness?
Research suggests that cannabis use can trigger symptoms of psychosis in some people.
These can include hallucinations, fantasies, a feeling of loss of control and a sense of feeling out of touch with your surroundings.
What is not clear is whether psychotic symptoms are usually short-lived, or whether they are more long-term and persist even when use of the drug is stopped.
Many experts believe that use of the drug can worsen symptoms in someone who already has schizophrenia, or manic depression associated with psychotic symptoms.
A Danish study, published last year, found almost half of patients treated for a cannabis-related mental disorder go on to develop a schizophrenic illness.
And mental health charity Mind reported that psychiatrists had seen an increase in numbers of people being hospitalised with psychotic episodes linked to cannabis use since the drug was downgraded in the UK in 2003.
There is also a body of evidence beginning to emerge that long-term use of cannabis in early teenage years puts an individual most at risk.
Odds are you'll die, too, if you eat 20000 grams of feathers.
I suggest that people keep this discussion appropriate.
If you want to discuss these types of subjects then please keep it scientific and/or political.
I say yes. It won't kill you, it's less dangerous than alcohol and it frees up cops to take care of other issues. Plus the government can make tons of money off of it.
So is beer.Marijuana is a drug, a mind altering, addictive substance. Therefore it should be illegal. Not much else to it (although people like to debate it)
