    Icon4 HELP!!!!!!!!!

Sorry if this has already been posted.

I have a Windows 7 PC and the Steam Version of M2TW

I downloaded TATW 3.0 (both parts) and installed both of them in this path: Steam; steamapps; common; medieval ii total war; and it was all going fine. I used the Kingdoms Launcher App so I could play the mod calling it: Third_Age_3.0 (no spaces, which is required for the Kingdoms Launcher App), this worked aswell. The problem came when I went onto Steam, loaded up the M2TW Steam Launcher and selected the Third_Age_3.0. The loading screen came up and then this happened:

And now, even if I want to play un-modded M2TW this happens:

    Any ideas?? Thanks

EDIT: If it helps the previous version of TATW worked fine.....

When you installed it do you also do this :

    1. Install both parts of the mod as instructed above.
    2. Open Steam/Steamapps/Common/Medieval II Total War/mods. There you
will find all your installed Kingdoms campaigns as well as the
    Third_Age_3 modfolder.
    3. Edit the name of one of the Kingdoms folders (americas, britannia,
crusades, teutonic), preferably your least favorite campaign. The new
name doesn't have to be anything specific.
    4. Change the name of the Third_Age_3 folder to the former name of the
Kingdoms folder you just edited. For example, if you edited the
americas folder, the Third_Age_3 folder should be named americas.
    5. Select the appropriate campaign from the steam menu. If you renamed
the Third_Age_3 folder to americas, select the americas campaign. If you
named it crusades, select the crusades campaign and so on.
    6. Steam will now launch the mod.
I KNOW MY NAME IS supposed TO BE MISPELLED
Please leave your name if you give me rep, so I can rep you back thanks

Cheers I've done those steps, and about to restart so I stop getting the error. I'll let you know if it works.

EDIT: Restarted computer and unfortunately the same thing happened, but thank-you anyway

I use steam, and I got it to work fine.

I am at work and can't check exactly, but where you installed the mod doesn't seem to be in the correct folder.

Perhaps you just wrote it wrong, but this isn't the correct destination:

Steam; steamapps; common; medieval ii total war

The correct destination should be the mod folder... so...

Shouldn't it go in the Steam; steamapps; common; medieval ii total war; mod folder.

    This might be the problem.

It took me several attempts to get this mod to correctly work under Steam. I found the best way was to just run Part 1 and Part 2 and let the files go into the default folder, and then manually move the mod to the
Steam; steamapps; common; medieval ii total war; mod folder, rename the mod as americas or crusades and then run it that way from the steam medieval II launcher.

If it isn't working then you probably did something wrong with the install. I would say start over.

Like I said I had to start over a few times because I was having problems getting part 1 and part 2 to download into the same/correct folder.

Anyway, try again. But make sure that Total War vanilla is still working... if you accidentally installed some files into your Total War vanilla files then that could be causing a problem... so get rid of the mod, make sure Total War vanilla is working, and then re-install the mod.

    Good luck.

PS: Oh, someone got a response in while I was typing.

Thanks anyway, I was just about to respond saying that Legalose's method didn't work and the same thing happened, unfortunately - I just want to play ; thanks for the advice, and I hope solution.

EDIT: Just uninstalled and now reinstalling to see if I can get it to work. (Vanilla M2TW/Kingdoms works fine )

EDIT2: If this helps here is the system.log file:
(NB The "teutonic" it refers to is when I changed the name of the TATW mod)

This is a repeat of my initial post... but I do think it will work if you do this... so worth repeating...

I had the same problem that you had initially.

Every time I run part 1 and part 2 and try to change the destination folder something would go wrong.

My solution was to just run part 1 and part 2 and don't change the destination folder.... it will create some new folders... once the mod is installed then just move it to your steam/total war mod folder and re-name the folder.

    It should work then.

I suspect the problem you are having is with getting part 1 and part 2 to go into the same folder. I had trouble with that, too.

Anyway, it does work just fine with steam but you have to get everything done just right.
