alright my bad I know what i did and fixed it but now after renaming the Third Age folder crusades and the other folder old crus do I delete the old crusades folder because now it wont letme into medieval 2 kingdoms or medieval 2 on steam... im lost

No, you don't need to delete the old crusades file.
When you start up the game you just select whatever you renamed the Third Age folder too.
For instance I have version 2.0 as "americas" and version 3.0 as "crusades"
If you cant get the Medieval II Launcher to open then you have done something else wrong.
I use steam and the best way to get Third Age to work with Steam is to:
1) download part 1 and part 2 into your download folder
2) When you run the 1st file just let it go to the default folder that it will create rather than trying to rename the destination.
3) Same for the 2nd file
4) Go and find the Third Age mod folder (where the installer put it) and move this to your Steam Total war mod folder.
For some reason changing the destination folder for the installer can cause problems. The first 2 times I installed it I was having problems, but once I just let it go to the default folder and manually moved it then it was easy.
Then all you have to do is rename the mod and you are good to go.
