Afaik Kingdoms on steam still doesn't work without M2 so... Just start installing Kingdoms and Steam will take care of it.

I believe that Gold includes both Medieval 2 and Kingdom, that why its "Gold".
So you dont need medieval 2, just install GOLD and you're good.
