    Icon3 BUG REPORTS - Third Age Version 3.0 [Read before posting!!!]

    Known Bugs & Issues


    • The Fellowship Campaign was not supposed to be playable in the first 3.0 release.
    • The custom settlements are mainly designed for the campaign map, therefore custom battles with custom settlements should only be played 1 vs 1.
    • Minas Tirith misses some door textures where units go onto the walls.
    • Spelling errors in several texts (please don't report more, I know them )
    • Deployment problems in some custom settlements
    • English captain model for slaves
    • Henneth Annun cave texture
    • Blackroot Archers Bodyguards do not replenish



    This is NO Bug:


    • passable water between Osgiliath (Reason: game limitation, no solution possible)
    • Projectiles in Osgiliath can sometimes fly through buildings (Reason: performance issues)
    • The game crashes before the first loading screens occurs (Reason: Installation was done in the wrong folder or one file of TATW 3.0 hasn't been installed)
    • Landbridges at Pelargir or the Anduin river (Reason: Prevents AI from being stuck)
    • Missing boiling oil (Reason: too much advantage for the player; not mentioned in Tolkien's lore)
    • Rebels stand besides a city at game start (Reason: has one)

    That is probably not a bug as I can start Minas Tirith without problem. The ones having this problem have most likely forgot to change the culture to "Custom". When I started it with Gondor culture I got Osgiliath.

    But... When I attacked Minas Tirith as Gondor and broke through the wall with catapults I got the defeat message and lost the battle. Don't know why and don't know if it was a bug.

    I tried the Black Gate as Gondor (attacker) vs Mordor and right after the end of the deployment I got the defeat message and lost the battle.

    I confirm about Minas Tirith, I played it without any problem.

    Edit: About Minas Tirith, when I play as Gondor (defender) against two allied Mordor armies, the deployment area of the second army is behind the city.


    And there is a siege tower near the White Tree.

    Not sure if this was planned but found what you might consider a bug in helms deep battle. My troops got onto the wall without using the staircase or anything, they just plopped onto it while standing on this hill.

    with big numbers, in custom battle at hornburg, the enemy will spawn in the high just behind it

    Same with minas tirith on custom battle. The second enemy army spawns on the mountain behind the city and siege equipment is in the courtyard.

    The Elven officers and banner carriers still use the old Eldar model.

    Not sure if it is a bug or rather LL didn't have time to change them as well ...

    Howewher ... Not sure if it is settings-related, but in Dol Guldur Mordor troll catapults (mordor is sieging) "disappear" in the sloped ground. They fire their missiles correctly tough, so this is an aesthetic bug only.

    In fellowship campaign, Aragorn's, Boromir's, and Gandalf's guards are glitched into ground half way and don't move for every battle
    Edit: Now the game crashed during the battle with the Balrog

    I'm getting these exact issues. First time I tried to start the Balrog battle my game quit. Second time I got to the point where the balrogs started wailing on me, then it quit. The units look awesome though! Nearly peed myself in joy/fear.

    When I tried to play a Minas Tirith battle with Gondor as defenders and Mordor as attackers, the map was a "clean terrain" version of The Black Gate... with Gondor defending it... weird.

    Edit: @Moneybags14 Yeah I forgot about it.. I had it set at Large Town instead of Huge City >.< my mistake.

    Where at on the mountain? I just tested it and they work fine, they don't go into the ground on my screen.

    I just ask becuz if it was a problem with just them I would feel responsible!

    You have to change the settlement type and culture to get minas tirith... follow the instructions on the map name

    Bugs found:

    Had the same Minas Tirith bug where they appear behind the city on the mountains, and the siege spawning in the courtyard.
    While playing Dol Guldur, in one spot which i cant remember where exactly while my units to get up onto the wall, they would go through the wall instead of the passage that was close-ish to them.

    Also, just started my Gondor campaign About 2/3 of the way through capturing Cair Andros the game had an error and quit. Might be just me, but still =(
    In the next battle where i was taking East Osgiliath uh, and well, my units could walk through the water...

    I downloaded and installed part one without a problem but twice now I've downloaded part two and got an error message of "This file contains invalid data" when I try to install it. I'll try downloading it again but I was wondering if anyone else has this problem.

    Pretty sure it's just a faulty download. Happens sometimes.

    Having an issue with Ranger units being stuck in the ground in the Fellowship campaign. During the first battle with the Nazgul, Aragorn's unit (not Aragorn himself) was stuck in the ground. The hobbit units were fine. I fought the battle anyway (the unit's can engage in battle), but it crashed about a minute into it. I reloaded the auto-save, avoided the Nazgul, made it to the Balrog, and found that both Boromir and Aragorn's models were waste deep in the ground again. The elves, dwarves, and hobbits were fine.

    Thoughts?

    EDIT: For what it's worth, the units in question are the hero units, not the regular rangers. They appear to be working fine in a custom battle. I also tested the regular Third Age campaign, and it appears that Aragorn's bodyguard unit faces no such ailment there (he's on horseback).

    I tried to place boromir in minas tirith, he bugged out and disapeared. I can select him and move him around via the family member tab but I cannot do anything with him... he has no command stars and cannot enter a settlement or lay siege

    Same, as well as the enemy armies spawning on mountains when playing Helm's Deep or Minas Tirith. When I set the setting for more than 1 enemy army - it happens.

    Not certain whether these changes were made on purpose:

    1. Land bridge between ithilien to just north of Pelagir. makign 4 ways to get across the anduin for Mordor.
    2. No forts in Ramas Echor

    Lastly, I caught this before it got me; but for everyone who runs steam and must rename their folder "Americas" or whatnot, please correct the location of the "quality_thrown_axe" entry in the descr_projectiles file after doing so. It will boucne you right out if you don't

    Default Helm's deep bugged tower. D:

    For anyone who plays the Helm's deep custom map. Careful when moving from the lower wall to the inner keep tower. theres a glitch that causes your units to go fly and falling to their death D:

    That big middle tower. I know its hard to see but units are flying in the air randomly and falling to their death as they go though that tower.
