Default Question about mounted units speed

I met with the opinion that the move_speed_mod command also works in respect of units mounted. And i have got a little problem with this. As i observed mounted units on battle map each type of horse has its own speed. So pony is faster than heavy horse and heavy horse is a little faster then armoured types of horse. According to this observation i have a little doubt with using command move_speed_mod. To what does this modifier? To the speed of a particular type of horse or to some abstract speed of averaged horse?

It seems to operate on the speed of the movement animations.

So you think it doesn't affect the real speed of units traffic on the tactic map? And what do you think about using the same modifier to two differents kind of horses? Will move pony and heavy horse the same speed if I give them the same modifier? (for example 1.2)

Every horse has by default its own animation, despite the speed_mod in the EDU. So if you give to a pony (which is very fast) a speed_mod of 1.2 and to a heavy horse 1.2, the result will be even faster for the pony despite the fact that the modifier is the same for both horses. Surely it has to do with both default animation and speed_mod, but in this situation default animation counts even more! At least this my observation to the subject.

The animations each unit uses determines their speed.

And then basically 1.0 means animations run at 100%, 1.2 means 120%, 1.02 means 102%, etc.

Maybe! The better way to know this for sure is by testing.
Follow if you like my example and see. I, when i have time will try testing with different mass and see how speed goes.. :-)
