    Default Rome total war steam/retail help

    I know this should be on steam but the forums just aren't working for me so im just going to ask here. If my friend buys Rome Total War from Amazon will he be able to play with us on steam?

    What do you mean? As far as I know the only thing he misses if he buys it on Amazon is steam chat. It doesn't effect the online at all if you buy it from a different website or supplier.

    They can still register and play a non-Steam sourced game on Steam. The only difference should be that they need to have the disc in the drive while the Steam sourced game players don't have a disc to use.

    So, long as the versions are the same there should be no problem.
