    Hi guys

I'm trying you beta version, and I think that's very nice
I hope that my version will be ready the next month, but i have a question for you

How can I claim the iron Trhone if I play, for example, with Tyrell or Stark?
I red when other faction claimed it, but I don't know how I can do it

    thanks

p.s. I think that you have some bug with stannis faction....if I click on their city or catch them, medieval crash:hmmm:

no it cant, i guess because it isn't one of the factions witch had a king in the books.

But Total war games are about changing history or the story right? So i think that every faction should be able to claim kingship.

It's a replication of a problem in the books, that Renly and the Tyrells are tightly allied together (Renly married Lord Tyrell's daughter, although this was a sham marriage because he's gay) and the Tyrells provide Renly with his manpower, but their factions aren't strictly unified together. I think one previous idea was that the Tyrells and Renly would be just one faction, but that would give all of the Reach (the most fertile land on the continent), all of the Stormlands plus two of the strongest castles in the land (Storm's End and Highgarden) pluse the second-biggest city (Oldtown) all to one faction, which would be pretty unbalancing, especially as their most obvious enemy in the area is relatively underpowered Dorne.

An alternate option would be to make Renly part of House Tyrell and give Stannis the Stormlands, which would also make playing as Stannis a bit more fun (he is way too weak at the start of the game, although the same is true in the books) but doesn't replicate the books too well. Although my argument is strongly that where sticking with the books means having less fun, we should go with not sticking with the books.

I disagree with Storm's End being strongest at least in the game, I took it as Stannis with less the a hundred casualties. BTW Stannis is not weak at the start, there are two unoccupied settlements right next to them, which bring a heap of cash enough for you to build an army. Also I conquered Joffrey and Renly within 34 turns (Joffrey is incredibly weak, and i don't use cheats). However, I agree with your second option it would make my campaign a whole lot easier. Martell would make a good ally to keep the Tyrell-Renly out (They help me keep the Tyrells out now).

EDIT: Tully feels my wrath now too!

Pietro, good to see you bud. Glad you are doing well and that your mod will be out soon. I'm looking forward to the expanded map.

Yeah, give it a shot with the Starks, Greyjoys, Renly or Stannis. ;x

Maybe the the Vale and Dorne can claim kingships of the Vale and Dorne. And Tyrell, Lannister, and Tully can claim Kingship of their individual lands if the allies their backing (Renly, Joffrey, Robb) die. To give them a chance to claim something, and because they actually seem interested in claiming the throne (except by marriage).

The factions are good as is. Though I do think it would be fun if all factions could claim kingship!

I did consider the option of Kingship for every house, to recreate the Seven Kingdoms....but the problem remains that there were only five Kings in the books. I don't know how fans or even GRRM will feel if we start making Kings everywhere. And if it becomes that common, King claiming would no longer be unique gameplay feature, it would become a chore.

For the supporting families like Tully and Tyrell, we saw how they reacted in the books when their King was gone. Tyrell just supported another King, while Tully fought to the bitter end. Neither claimed King for themselves.

Even then claiming Kingship will still be a unique gameplay feature, because no other mod has it.
Still it would be very cool to claim yourself king of the Reach/Westerlands/Vale/Riverlands, and it would become harder for those factions.

Medieval 2 total war is all about making your own story/history, that's what makes the game fun in my opinion.
I think that should also count for this mod.

Don't meen to sound negative, but I think creating kingships would be a very bad ideea.
I think it would cause havok with the alliances, the alliance system in this mod is fragile enough, it's already giving very non cannon results, for ex I've seen Stanis making peace with Joffrey etc..
Imagine what would happen if Tywin claimed kingship in the west and left Joffrey in the dust .
I think the system is OK the way it is. Maybe any faction could claim kingship of the iron throne after taking Kings Landing or something like that:hmmm:, but I think kingships for everyone would not be good.

    Anyway that's just my opinion.

i agree with raducul32167, with the alliance system so very fragile, it wouldnt work, although it would be nice for Martell to decide they want the kingdom and declare themselves but I think its pretty good the way it is

I was getting some odd results (well, odd according to the books, the game itself doesn't 'know' they're odd) such as House Joffrey agreeing to become a Stark vassal and the Tullys breaking with the Starks to forge an alliance with the Lannisters instead. However, this generally didn't happen until some way into the game, once the circumstances had long evolved beyond the situation in the books.

That's part of the fun, though Dorne usually fights with Tyrell over the marches, which is always cool.

"Five had been his brothers. Oswell Whent and Jon Darry. Lewyn Martell, a prince of Dorne. The White Bull, Gerold Hightower. Ser Arthur Dayne, Sword of the Morning. And beside them, crowned in mist and grief with his long hair streaming behind him, rode Rhaegar Targaryen, Prince of Dragonstone and rightful heir to the Iron Throne."

    Legit!

Could use a bit of polishing but looks great!

So there's no more knights? Only from Highgarden and Oldtown?

    Been waiting for this.
I think you guys didn't discuss the roster enough. Highgarden was renowned as swordsmen powerhouse, bringing a hundred thousand swords alone to the War of Five Kings. (not completely sure, not a fan)
Three types of spears and just one of sword? Something fell through the cracks, methinks.
    Cheers.
