Recruitment & Movement
I hope I am not duplicating a post with this. I did not see one when I searched. Based upon my limited knowledge of Roman History it would seem that using zero turn recruitment would be more historically accurate. Also, It seems like all units should receive higher movement points since I don't think it took so long for the Romans, for instance, to march from Rome to Tarentum. What are the thoughts on these two topics? I can mod for zero turn recruitment but I don't want to screw the game up. Would changing the recruitment time affect other aspects of the game?
Excellent job with this mod. I appreciate the hard work and time and am enjoying your game.

Re: Recruitment & Movement
We decided against using zero-recruitment, for we'd like to differentiate between the regular and elite units. All units needed a period of training, we believe that 1 turn (3 months) is appropriate for a normal unit.
As for movement points, we can't make them any higher because it would then become unable to 'lock' AI governors in freshly conquered regions, completely unbalancing the mod.
I hope to have provided satisfying responses to your questions

Re: Recruitment & Movement
Thanks for the answer. Makes sense. Particularly about the movement points. As to recruiting, I definately agree that it should take a season to raise a legion, but I was really trying to recruit mutiple units at once so that Rome can raise a legion in the Winter for the next years campaign. Zero turn recruitment lets you do that. But, as it stands now, I can keep units in a fort next to Rome with 1 or 2 troops in the unit and then retrain all of the units to simulate the Rome recruiting a legion in three months. I have also just kept a legion at the ready in a fort near Rome so that it simulates Rome's ability to call up a legion in a season. It's expensive but I like trying to be as historical as I can.
Again, thanks for the quick response and thanks for the game. The leaves in the yard are getting deep and a bunch of Honey Do's aren't getting doen, but Epeirus is about to get kicked out of Italy and Carthage is making aggressive moves in Sicily. That stuff can wait!!
