Possible to pay pure tribute to another faction?

When you make offers in the diplomacy screen, is it possible to only offer something without demanding "Something suitable in return for our offer"?

Depends what you want to offer, but you can most certainly just hand over currency as a gift. Look near the bottom of the screen for the icon that looks like a present.

if the button to the left of "make offer" lights up (the one looking like a xmas present), then you can.

Thanks! Somehow, I never noticed that button after playing M2 for about a year.
