Im playing as rome and ive notice almost half of my family members have no Influence, Manegment, or command. Is it suppose to be this way? How do i increase these traits?

Hi matekaitis, the RTR team has implemented a leadership system for SPQR faction. See here RTR VII Feature highlight: Roman Leadership
I try getting a family member the trait of tribunes militum but I never see him actually get the trait. One last question, how do I get family members to be eligible for office? By the way, I think the system is an awesome feature but I guess I'm just a little confused. Thanks for the help.

Disregard. After re-reading the post i figured it out. Thanks again.

I love the system too and have been playing with it for quite some time, the only problem that I'm having is that my FM's die of old age before they can get to Consul !!
How it plays out for me is as follows;
Coming of Age 16
Eligible TR 26
Eligible Q 46
Eligible A 58
Eligible P 63
then lucky if they live any longer to become Consul.
[nb.The same year they get eligible I whack an appointment on them.]
If these ages are correct then the system is flawed, as Rome never has any generals worth fighting with.
Hopefully there is a way to change the eligible ages in the scr. ?
Any advice on this topic appreciated.

Hi Matekaitis
"Not true .... "
I thought something was not quite right, but I have played through many generations, even made a spreadsheet recording the age and other details of ALL F.M and MY numbers came out as I quoted.
What could the problem be ??
The time between aedilis and praetor should be 3 years, not 8.
"Lay these words to heart, Lucilius, that you may scorn the pleasure which comes from the applause of the majority. Many men praise you; but have you any reason for being pleased with yourself, if you are a person whom the many can understand?" - Lucius Annaeus Seneca -
your right, typo.
"To say of what is that it is not, or of what is not that it is, is false, while to say of what is that it is, and of what is not that it is not, is true" ~ Aristotle
Another thing to remember: You do not need to keep your family in a particular office until they become eligible for the next. The requirements are such that you must have held the rank of Quaestor and Praetor to move on to a higher rank. Eligibility starts counting from the moment an FM first holds those offices and will continue to count regardless of whether they stay in that office or not. Your priority should be to transfer these offices to younger family members as soon as they become eligible for it. So do not keep your quaestors and praetors in office while there are younger eligible family members around. If you do, you're stifling their development. The consequence is it will take a long time before they reach the top and because they'r older when they get there, you won't get many years out of them.

quick question. Can you have more than two consuls?

You can have more than 2 consuls (or rather pro-consuls) but that won't happen until your empire is quite large. There's a table in the highlight thread that specifies how the number of offices increases as your empire grows.

i have two current consuls but i see two more FM's with the eligible for Consul attribute, but everyime i send them to rome they get the Quaestor trait instead.

You probably don't meet the region requirements needed to obtain an extra Consul appointment.![]()
