    Default Remove Un-removable Files?

In order to install Mod (RTW), I just copied the origional version and used this for the Mod.

Recently, I had to many Mod versions on the c: drive, some did not work for any unknown reasons. So, I decided to delete some. Windows Explorer did not delete all the files in the Mod version - I decided to remove them all in "Safe Mode". It worked fine; however, Windows decided to safe them all as unremovable files on the c: drive. Now, I have two big green blocks of unremovable files on my c: drive (one for the origional Window files and one with all the old moded RTW files).

Is there any way to remove these useless files from the HD, short of having to re-install Windows XP?

    Thank you for any advise.

    Use command prompt.

Go to start -> run -> type in "cmd" without the quotes
Then type "help" without the quotes and it will give you a list of commands.

I'm not that familiar with command prompt my self so I can't help you there, but if you look around the net there should be some guides.

BTW, what error message was it giving to you when you try to delete the files?

I had previously problems deleting .dll files in Windows Explorer and used the "Safe Mode" to get rid of them.
This time I thought, why not delete all the files while in Safe Mode - bad choice!

I learned a lesson - if one deletes anything in Safe Mode, the computer saves it; even if it my crappy outdated Mod version. It seems, now I am stuck unless someone more computer savy than me has a solution.

Well like I said, if you use command prompt you can force Windows to do anything it wants.

Heres an article that should help you:

the dos command you're looking for is "attrib -r /s" in your main RTW directory.

    Timmius:
These files (old mod files) are "unmovable" (green when one runs the compact command) and do not show up in any directory. In order to remove them, I need to make them visible first in cmd. I have two green blocks of files on the HD - one, I like to remove since they contain the old mod files.
The question is how and how can I distinguish them from the Window files?
