    Default unit recruitment size/regions/factions

i think the new rs2 is even get another improvemnet to the orginal rome total war i got years ago. but i do have to say that with this new grade to the orginial upgrade it still does not address some flaws with the game.

the biggest one for me is that the amount of units you can have one army. what i mean by an army is in the campaign map when you select the unit figure that holds the banner that lists all of the units or another way to look at it when your in the battle map that list all of your unit you have in the the army you can have a maximum of 20 units. personal i think in the game you should be able to have more than 20 units. i know you can increase the unit size but that is not the same because if you do that the units on the battle map are not as maneuver as a smaller size of about 80-100 dependsing if your pre or post marian reform. personaly for more realistic game play experience each army or what i like to call a legion should be able to recruit 64 with each unit should be the size of 80-100 foot soldier units 45 -62 calarvy units. this will make each army (legion) about 5000 and that is the size of the legions in the acient world. of course the the other factions should be able to recruit 64 units so its evenly matched in the battles

secondly i think the campaign map should have more regions like in rome realism and rs2 should have more faction like the illyians, numidans etc and during the game new faction should appear like the huns later on in the game like you get in the rome bi.

if i could i would design this myself but my computer skill ar not that great. does anyone else think the same as well?

those things are hard coded, the team can't do those things without moddifiying the .exe which isn't allowed

Ok well the game does now allow no more than 20 units in the army. It is super hard coded into the game engine and no way to change it without changing the engine which is illegal and violates this sites Terms of service.

Also the amount of troops per unit is also hard coded. The max you can have as a unit is 242 or 244. 240 troops and the rest for officers and barriers.

There is just no way to go around it.

I agree the OP is asking for a lot, (both things I support however,) but would someone explain to me WHY it is illegal?

Absolutely ridiculous if its not going to be used for commercial purposes.

    actually it's not really...

The source code or the engine code of a certain game represents industrial property. Or in some cases authors property. In both cases however, this is considered as the base product in which company invsted time and money in order to develop it and make it work without guarantee that it will work indeed. so you have to give some credit to all those companies for even making such effort...

Commercial purposes isn't an issue here... you can google for terms of service and you'll get links o blizzard, ea sports, konami etc where you can read terms of service of some products. also, when you installed your game you have accepted license agreement haven't you? but, did you read it? you really should. i know it is boring and long but it has it's reasons to be like that.

in fact we are lucky companies allow us to mod their games, and sometimes they even contribute to that in great way (Medieval 2 TW was in later editions released unpacked with unpacker tools). so, we should in fact be very grateful for level of "poetic" freedom we can use when modding this games. i have read on several sites (this being one of them: https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2010/0...rime-bypassing ) that people have actually gone to jail for that.

    from that site:
another federal judge has ruled that violating a website terms of service is not a crime. But there's bad news, too — the court also found that bypassing technical or code-based barriers intended to limit access to or uses of a website may violate California's computer crime law.
this indeed is limited to california and talks about websites but same thing can apply everywhere really

Closed. Read the ToS, you agreed to not discuss modifying the exe. If you want to debate this then contact one of the site moderators as to why, however, closed on this forum. It can't be done and OP, if you read the information on the mod you'd have seen that these limits are part of the exe and not the mod.
